Devotion (TV Series)
Devotion (Chinese: 阿娣) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which was telecasted on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp Channel 8. It stars Zoe Tay, Chen Hanwei, Zhou Ying, Cynthia Wang, Zhang Zhenhuan, Kate Pang & Adeline Lim as the casts of the series. It made its debut on 28 June 2011 and ended its run on 1 August 2011. This drama serial consists of 25 episodes, and was screened on every weekday night at 9.00 pm. The storyline spans 40 years, and is also dubbed the mid-year blockbuster-cum-47th anniversary drama. Synopsis Liu Zhao Di (Zoe Tay), better known as Ah Di, is born in the 60s amidst sand quarries during the heyday of sand quarrying. Zhao Di, the fourth daughter in the family and whose name means "brings a younger brother", is given away to an uncle after her mother finally gives birth to a boy. He mistreats Ah Di like a maid. Channel 8 (Singaporean TV Channel)
Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel, airing in Mandarin Chinese. It was created by Television Singapura on 31 August 1963 with experimental broadcasts, before going official on 23 November that year. The channel's logo is a yellow number 8 on top of a red disc. History Channel 8 began its test transmissions on Saturday, 31 August 1963, Malaysia's national day. Its first day consisted of a Hokkien film, repeats of India's participation in the South East Asian Cultural Festival and Singapore Celebrates. A second test transmission took place between 16 and 20 September of that year and devoted much of its time to the week-long celebrations, to coincide with the historic Proclamation of Malaysia, and the political campaigns leading up to the 1963 General Election.
