Poland
Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe. It is divided into 16 administrative provinces called voivodeships, covering an area of . Poland has a population of over 38 million and is the fifth-most populous member state of the European Union. Warsaw is the nation's capital and largest metropolis. Other major cities include Kraków, Wrocław, Łódź, Poznań, Gdańsk, and Szczecin. Poland has a temperate transitional climate and its territory traverses the Central European Plain, extending from Baltic Sea in the north to Sudeten and Carpathian Mountains in the south. The longest Polish river is the Vistula, and Poland's highest point is Mount Rysy, situated in the Tatra mountain range of the Carpathians. Ewa Maria Janik (born 19 December 1948) is a Polish political figure who served in the national Parliament (Sejm) from September 1997 to November 2007. Ewa Janik served as a Mayor of Częstochowa from 1998 to 2000. A native of the historic southern city of Częstochowa, formerly the capital of Częstochowa Voivodeship and, since 1999, a part of Silesian Voivodeship, Ewa Janik is a member of the Democratic Left Alliance and was initially elected to the Sejm in the Polish parliamentary election of 1997. Tadeusz Iwiński
Tadeusz Iwiński (; born 28 October 1944) is a Polish politician. He was from 1991 to 2015 a member of the Sejm (the lower house of the Polish parliament), elected to represent the Olsztyn electoral district from the list presented by the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej). He had earlier (1967–1990) been a long-serving member of the communist Polish United Workers Party (Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza). In 1968 Iwiński obtained an MSc in industrial chemistry from the Warsaw University of Technology and he later studied at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the University of Warsaw. In 1973 he was awarded a PhD in International Affairs. Jerzy Krzysztof Hausner (born 6 October 1949, in Świnoujście) is a Polish politician and economist. He is a Member of the 4th Sejm (Parliament) of the Republic of Poland.
