Curling Alberta
Curling Alberta is the regional governing body for the sport of curling in Alberta. It was incorporated in 2018 as an amalgamate of the Alberta Curling Federation (ACF), the Northern Alberta Curling Association (NACA), the Southern Alberta Curling Association (SACA), and the Peace Curling Association (PCA). Curling clubs in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality and Peace River Regional District of British Columbia are also members of Curling Alberta (and previously the PCA), as opposed to Curl BC. Cold Lake is a city in northeastern Alberta, Canada and is named after the lake nearby. Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake (CFB Cold Lake) is situated within the city's outer limits. History Cold Lake was first recorded on a 1790 map, by the name of Coldwater Lake. Originally three communities, Cold Lake was formed by merging the Town of Grand Centre, the Town of Cold Lake, and Medley ( Canadian Forces Base 4 Wing) on October 1, 1996. Grand Centre was renamed Cold Lake South, and the original Cold Lake is known as Cold Lake North. Because of its origins, the area is also known as the Tri-Town. Geography The city is situated in Alberta's "Lakeland" district, northeast of Edmonton, near the Alberta-Saskatchewan provincial border. Kitscoty is a village located in central Alberta, Canada. Situated at the junction of Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) and Highway 897 (the link to Cold Lake), the village is located approximately midway between Edmonton and Saskatoon ( and respectively). In addition, the village is within short commuting distance of Lloydminster. The CN railway tracks also pass through Kitscoty. The municipal office of the surrounding County of Vermilion River's is located in Kitscoty. Vilna is a historic village in central Alberta, Canada. Vilna is located in Smoky Lake County, on Highway 28, northeast of the city of Edmonton. ''Bonnie Lake Provincial Recreation Area'' is located north of the community, on the shores of Bonnie Lake. History Vilna was founded in 1907, mostly by central European settlers, and started to develop in 1919, when the railroad reached this area.
