List Of Constituencies Of The Karnataka Legislative Assembly
The Karnataka Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of Karnataka state in India. Karnataka is one of the six states in India, where the state legislature is bicameral, comprising two houses. The two houses are the ''Vidhan Sabha'' (lower house) and the ''Vidhan Parishad'' (upper house). In summer, the seat of the Legislative Assembly is in Bangalore, the capital of the state, while in winter it is at Belagavi, in the northern part of the state. The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years, unless dissolved earlier. The 15th Karnataka Legislative Assembly was constituted after the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections in 2018. Polling was held on 12 May for 222 constituencies out of the 224-member assembly, with counting of votes and results declared on 15 May. The term of the assembly is for five years. Belgaum, officially Belagavi, Lok Sabha seat, is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Indian state of Karnataka. Vidhana Sabha segments The composition of Belgaum Lok Sabha seat has undergone several changes. In 1962, there were three assembly seats in the constituency from Belgaum, named Belgaum City, Belgaum I and Belgaum II. Then the map was redrawn and some seats like Khanapur, Uchagaon and Bagewadi were added to Belgaum seat as part of renaming.
