Comoros
The Comoros,, ' officially the Union of the Comoros,; ar, الاتحاد القمري ' is an independent country made up of three islands in southeastern Africa, located at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean. Its capital and largest city is Moroni. The religion of the majority of the population, and the official state religion, is Sunni Islam. As a member of the Arab League, it is the only country in the Arab world which is entirely in the Southern Hemisphere. Comoros proclaimed their independence on July 6, 1975. Said Ali Kemal
Said Ali Kemal (1938 – 13 September 2020) was a Comorian politician. He was the son of Prince Saïd Ibrahim Ben Ali and the grandson of Sultan Said Ali bin Said Omar of Grande Comore. Biography Kemal did his Quranic studies in the Comoros, then attended university in Madagascar and France, where he graduated from the École nationale de la France d'Outre-Mer and the Institute of Human and Social Sciences. After studying journalism, he began working for the Office de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française in the Comoros in 1969. Working as a journalist in the Comoros, Réunion, Djibouti, and France, Kemal was one of the first Africans to present news on a French television channel. In Djibouti, his job was to cover the conflict between the Afars and the Issas. He was one of the founding members of the Association des Stagiaires et Étudiants comoriens (ASEC) in France. Prince Said Mohamed Jaffar ( ar, سعيد محمد جعفر), full name Said Mohamed Jaffar El Amjad, (born April 14, 1918 in Comoros, and died October 22, 1993) was the 2nd President of Comoros ''(État comorien)'' from August 1975 until January 1976, as well as chief minister of the Comoros government from July until December 1972. Ibrahim Halidi (1954— February 23, 2020 ( ar, إبراهيم هاليدي) is a long-time politician in Comoros. Halidi was the Prime Minister of Comoros from January to May 1993. Halidi also ran for president in May 2006 with the backing of the outgoing president, Azali Assoumani. In the first round of the election, Halidi finished in third place with 10.37% and qualified for the presidential second round, which was held on 14 May. Halidi lost the presidential election to Ahmed Abdallah Sambi.
