Contemporary worship music (CWM), also known as praise and worship music, is a defined genre of Christian music used in contemporary worship. It has developed over the past 60 years and is stylistically similar to pop music. The songs are frequently referred to as "praise songs" or "worship songs" and are typically led by a "worship band" or "praise team", with either a guitarist or pianist leading. It has become a common genre of music sung in many churches, particularly in charismatic or non-denominational Protestant churches with some Roman Catholic congregations incorporating it into their mass as well. Jon Buller (born December 27, 1970) is a Contemporary Christian artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He now resides in Vernon, British Columbia, where he works as Pastor of Worship and the Arts at Vernon Alliance Church, a position he began in August 2005. Buller founded Hear the Music Ministries (HTM) in 1999; HTM is "committed to discipling and developing emerging Christian musicians, expressing worship through music." The ''Bukas Palad'' Music Ministry (Filipino for "generous"; literally, "open palm") is a Roman Catholic, contemporary worship musical group in the Philippines that composes, records, and performs original religious music. Since 1986, ''Bukas Palad'' has recorded over a dozen albums with the Jesuit Music Ministry of Jesuit Communications Foundation, a ministry of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus, based in Ateneo de Manila University. Building 429 is an American Christian rock band from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Their name is derived from a Biblical passage known as Ephesians 4:29, which, in the New International Version of the Bible, reads as follows: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Bishop Clint Steven Brown (born April 29, 1963) is an American gospel musician. Early life Brown was born in Iota, Louisiana on April 29, 1963, as Clint Steven Brown. Brown grew up in the United Pentecostal Church (UPCI) and from a very young age began to play the piano for Sunday services. After services in his home church would conclude, Brown would sneak across town to the local Church Of God In Christ congregation. “I’d be the only white boy in the building.” Brown has said on many occasions.
