Mising Baptist Kebang
Mising Baptist Kebang (MBK) is a Baptist churches convention based in Assam, India. It has six associations and is spread across six districts of Assam. It is an associate member of the Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India, and has over 116 churches affiliated under MBK with 4,300 members. The MBK is made primarily of Mishing people, an indigenous ethnic group of Assam. The MBK mission center is at Moinapara, Gogamukh in Dhemaji District of Assam state. History Mising Baptist Kébang (Convention) was established in 2005 by leaders of various Mising Baptist Churches in Assam as a network organization for all the Mising Baptist Churches. The Mission Secretary of ouncil of Baptist Churches in Northeast India(CBCNEI), Rev. Dr. Dusanü Venyo and General Secretary of CBCNEI Rev. The Roman Rite ( la, Ritus Romanus) is the primary liturgical rite of the Latin Church, the largest of the ''sui iuris'' particular churches that comprise the Catholic Church. Tripura Baptist Christian Union
The Tripura Baptist Christian Union (TBCU) is a Baptist Christian denomination in Tripura, India. It has its head office in Agartala, the state capital. The TBCU is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) and the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). It is also a member church in the North East India Christian Council (NEICC), a regional church body of the National Council of Churches in India (NCCI). As of 2020, TBCU had 84,795 members in 943 churches. History The union was formed under the leadership of Rev. M.J. Eade in December 1938 in Lakshmilunga, a village six miles from Agartala. TBCU was supported and funded from the beginning by the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society (NZBMS) and they provided most of the staff till the 1960s. Rabha Baptist Convention
The Rabha are a Tibeto-Burman community to the Indian states of Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal. They primarily inhabit the plains of Lower Assam and the Dooars, while some are found in the Garo Hills. Most of the Rabhas of Dooars refer to themselves as Rabha, but some of them often declare themselves as Kocha. The Rabha community have a rich, multi-faceted and distinct culture of their own. The agricultural practices, food habit and belief systems of the Rabhas reflect a conglomeration of features from both the Indo-Aryan and Tibeto-Burmese culture. The Rabha society is patrilineal . Bodo Baptist Convention
Boro Baptist Convention or BBC is a Baptist churches convention based in Assam, India, with more than 52,000 members and 354 congregations as of 2014. The Boro Baptist Convention was established in 1914 and completed its centenary celebrations in 2014. It has its headquarters at Harisinga in Udalguri District of Bodoland, Assam. It is affiliated to the North Bank Baptist Christian Association. The Union is made primarily of Bodo people, an indigenous ethnic group of Assam. History In 1914 Rev. George Richard Kampfer of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society (ABFMS) who was stationed in Guwahati came to Borigaon and established the first Baptist church. It was in the year 1914 under the guidance of Rev. Evangelical Baptist Convention
Evangelical Baptist Convention is a Baptist Christian denomination in Manipur, India. Their main area of presence is in the southern part of Manipur. It currently has a total of 151 churches and is one of the biggest churches among the tribal groups in the northeastern part of India. Its headquarters, Dorcas Hall, is located at Hebron Veng, New Lamka. History The denomination was started in the year 1948, as a result of the work of missionaries in northeast India.
