Overview The main concentration of Austrian caves (German: ''Höhle'') is in the Northern Limestone Alps, a mountain range of the Eastern Alps. Many of them are located in the geographical region of Salzkammergut and in the Totes Gebirge. Caves The caves are listed by alphabetical order and there are shown the main tourist caves and other notable (ex.: archaeological or paleontological) underground voids. Alland
Alland is a market town in the district of Baden in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. Geography It is located in the Industrieviertel region of Lower Austria, about southwest of the Austrian capital Vienna. Alland is situated in a valley of the Vienna Woods (''Wienerwald'') mountain range and recreation area. The municipal area comprises the village of Mayerling with its hunting lodge, today a Carmelite monastery. Obertraun, Upper Austria is a village in the Salzkammergut, a region in Austria, near the Hallstätter See (Hallstatt Lake) and Hoher Dachstein. It is a popular holiday destination with activities such as skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and mountain biking, swimming and kayaking in the summer.
