This is a list of casinos and horse racing tracks in Alberta. The province of Alberta has given out many licences for small casinos but few have attached hotels and none are major resorts. A partial exception to this rule is the River Cree Resort and Casino which is located on the Enoch Cree Indian Reserve and owned by the Enoch Cree Nation (and therefore partially exempt from provincial jurisdiction). In addition to these casinos there are temporary caissons set up during major festivals such as K-Days, large "gaming room" full of VLTs in many bars, and approximately 50 bingo halls throughout the province. Enoch Cree Nation 135
Enoch Cree Nation 135, ( cr, ᒪᐢᑫᑯᓯᐦᐠ, translit=maskêkosihk ) previously known as Stony Plain No. 135, is an Indian reserve of the Enoch Cree Nation #440 in Alberta. It is adjacent to the City of Edmonton to the east and Parkland County to the north, west, and south. Geography The locality of Enoch is on the Enoch Cree Nation 135 reserve. Enoch Cree Nation
The Enoch Cree Nation #440 ( cr, script=Cans, ᒪᐢᑫᑯᓯᐦᐠ, ) is a First Nations band government in Alberta, Canada. Members of the Nation are of Cree ancestry and speak the Plains Cree dialect of the Cree language group. The band is a signatory of Treaty 6 and is a member of the Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations. The chief of the Enoch Cree Nation is Cody Thomas. K-Days
K-Days, formerly known as the Edmonton Exhibition, Klondike Days, and the Capital Ex, is an annual 10-day exhibition held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada mostly in late July. In recent years it has attracted between 700,000 and 800,000 visitors per year. It runs in conjunction with the Taste of Edmonton and – from 2006 through 2012 – the Edmonton Indy. Century Downs Racetrack and Casino is a casino and horse racing track near Calgary. It is one of two "A-level" horse racing venues in the province of Alberta and brought live horse racing back to the Calgary area for the first time since June 15, 2008. Century Downs offers live Standardbred races on weekends and holidays throughout the months of April to November. The casino features 550 slot machines, seven VLTs, and an Off-Track Betting area which simulcasts both Standardbred and Thoroughbred races from around the world. Century Mile Racetrack And Casino
Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is a casino and horse racing facility in Leduc County, Alberta, next to the Edmonton International Airport. It is one of two "A-level" horse racing venues in the province of Alberta, and the only one-mile racetrack in western Canada. Century Mile opened on April 1, 2019, serving as the replacement for Northlands Park.
