WBT (AM)
WBT (1110 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station serving the Charlotte metropolitan area, including parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. First licensed on March 18, 1922, it is one of America's first radio stations. The station airs a news/talk radio format simulcast on WBT-FM (99.3) and the HD2 digital subchannel of co-owned WLNK. WBT is owned by Urban One. Studios and offices are located off West Morehead Street, just west of Uptown Charlotte, co-located with the city's CBS television affiliate, WBTV, currently owned by Gray Television but at one time co-owned with WBT Radio. Luke August Kuechly (; born April 20, 1991) is an American former professional football middle linebacker who played all eight seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He is generally recognized as the best middle linebacker of the 2010s and as one of the best of all time. He was drafted by the Panthers ninth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Kuechly played college football at Boston College where he was recognized twice as a consensus All-American. Anish Shroff (born 1982) is the radio play-by-play man for the Carolina Panthers and play-by-play announcer and on-air host at ESPN Early life and education Shroff was born in Bloomfield, New Jersey, to Indian parents who are both from Mumbai. His father is a professional photographer. Shroff graduated from Bloomfield High School in 2000, and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the S. I. Eugene Keefe Robinson (born May 28, 1963) is a former American football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. He spent the majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 1985. In addition to his 11 seasons with the Seahawks, he was a member of the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons for two seasons each, and the Carolina Panthers for one season. Roman Ildonzo Gabriel Jr. (born August 5, 1940) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL). Bill Rosinski is an American sportscaster and talk show host, operating primarily out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Rosinski currently works for ESPN Radio as its lead college football and college basketball commentator, as well as for ISP Sports calling ACC sports. Before taking the job at ESPN Radio in 2009 Rosinski had spent the last four seasons calling National Football League games for Westwood One radio.
