This is a list of C-pop artists and groups. C-pop, which encompasses mainly Mandopop and Cantopop (and to some extent Hokkien pop and pop music of other Chinese dialects), represents the main pop music in the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as Chinese-speaking communities in the rest of the world. Almost all popular actors and actresses in Chinese entertainment have released songs to boost their popularity, and thus technically are considered C-pop artists. C-pop
C-pop is an abbreviation for Chinese popular music (), a loosely defined musical genre by artists originating from mainland China,Hong Kong and Taiwan (the Greater China region). This also includes countries where Chinese languages are used by parts of the population, such as Singapore and Malaysia. C-pop is used as an umbrella term covering not only Chinese pop but also R&B, ballads, Chinese rock, Chinese hip hop and Chinese ambient music, although Chinese rock diverged during the early 1990s. There are currently three main subgenres within C-pop: Cantopop, Mandopop and Hokkien pop. The gap between Cantopop and Mandopop has been narrowing in the new millennium. A-mei
Kulilay Amit (, born 9 August 1972), better known by her stage name A-Mei, is a Taiwanese Puyuma singer and record producer. In 1996, she made her singing debut and released her album, ''Sisters''. Her albums ''Truth'' (2001), ''Amit'' (2009), and ''Faces of Paranoia'' (2014) each won her a Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer and made the Taiwanese diva one of the singers who won the category the most times. Genie Chuo
Genie Chuo (; born 20 January 1986) is a Taiwanese singer, actress and television host. Life and career Chuo won several karaoke competitions when she was a first year in the Taipei County Fuho Junior High School. After a number of lessons and training for singing, she debuted as a singer. She attended Hua Kang Art School where she briefly dated Alien Huang during her first year. Tanya Chua
Tanya Chua (; born 28 January 1975) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. She launched her singing career by releasing her debut studio album ''Bored'' in 1997. Vivian Chow Wai-man (, born 10 November 1967) is a Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer-songwriter and actress. Life and career Vivian Chow is the only child in her family. Cheer Chen Chi-chen (; born 6 June 1975) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. Her most recent album, ''Sofa Sea'', was released in 2018. Early life Chen was born on 6 June 1975 in Taipei. Deserts Chang (; born 30 May 1981) is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. Early life Deserts Chang was born as Chiao An-p'u () on 30 May 1981 to a high socio-economic status family.
