Test Cricket
Test cricket is a form of first-class cricket played at international level between teams representing full member countries of the International Cricket Council (ICC). A match consists of four innings (two per team) and is scheduled to last for up to five days. In the past, some Test matches had no time limit and were called Timeless Tests. The term "test match" was originally coined in 1861–62 but in a different context. Test cricket did not become an officially recognised format until the 1890s, but many international matches since 1877 have been retrospectively awarded Test status. The first such match took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in March 1877 between teams which were then known as a Combined Australian XI and James Lillywhite's XI, the latter a team of visiting English professionals. Stumped
Stumped is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket, which involves the wicket-keeper putting down the wicket while the batsman is out of his ground. (The batsman leaves his ground when he has moved down the pitch beyond the popping crease, usually in an attempt to hit the ball). The action of stumping can only be performed by a wicket-keeper, and can only occur from a legitimate delivery (i.e. not a no-ball), while the batsman is not attempting a run; it is a special case of a run out. Being "out of his ground" is defined as not having any part of the batsman's body or his bat touching the ground behind the crease – i.e., if his bat is slightly elevated from the floor despite being behind the crease, or if his foot is on the crease line itself but not completely across it and touching the ground behind it, then he would be considered out (if stumped). Naimur Rahman
Naimur Rahman Durjoy (born 19 September 1974) is a Bangladeshi politician and retired cricketer. He is the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member from the Manikganj-1 constituency representing the Bangladesh Awami League party since 2014. Durjoy served as the first captain of Bangladesh national cricket team. At international level, he played 8 Test and 29 ODI matches for the team. Cricket career A right arm offspinner, Durjoy was a member of Bangladesh's 1997 ICC Trophy winning side. He became his country's inaugural Test captain when he led Bangladesh on their Test debut, against India in 2000. Rahman took 6 for 132 in India's first innings, including the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Mohammad Rafique (cricketer)
Mohammed Rafique ( bn, মোহাম্মদ রফিক), born 5 September 1970 was a Bangladeshi cricket coach and former cricketer. He was the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in Test matches. Rafique is known his contribution to the cricket world with positions in both the World XI for the Super Series against Australia in 2005 and the Asia XI for the exhibition series against Africa XI in 2007. He was named captain of Bangladesh Legends cricket team in 2020-21 Road Safety World Series. Mehrab Hossain ( bn, মেহরাব হোসেন; born 22 September 1978) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who played in nine Test matches and 18 One Day Internationals from 1998 to 2003. By scoring 101 against Zimbabwe at Bangabandhu National Stadium at Dhaka in 1999, he became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score a century in ODIs. Khaled Mashud
Khaled Mashud, popularly known as Khaled Mashud Pilot ( bn, খালেদ মাসুদ; born 8 February 1976) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer and a captain in Tests and ODIs. A wicketkeeper and middle order batsman, he was a regular member of the national team between 1995 and 2007. Bangladeshi coach Dav Whatmore claimed Mashud as the "best wicketkeeper in Asia." He contributed to Bangladesh's first ever ODI hat-trick by taking two catches off Shahadat Hossain's bowling. After the international retirement in 2008, he continued to play domestic cricket in Bangladesh as captain of the Rajshahi Division team. Hasibul Hossain
Mohammad Hasibul Hossain ( bn, মোহাম্মদ হাসিবুল হোসেন) (born 3 June 1977), known as Hasibul Hossain, played five Tests (2000–01) and 32 One-Day Internationals (1995–2004) for Bangladesh. Hasibul made his ODI debut at Sharjah against Sri Lanka in 1995 at the age of 17. He celebrated his debut with the big wicket of Roshan Mahanama. The fastest bowler in the country, Hasibul continued on to play regularly for Bangladesh for a number of years. Habibul Bashar
Qazi Habibul Bashar ( bn, কাজী হাবিবুল বাশার; born 17 August 1972) is a retired Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team. Under the managership of Dav Whatmore, he has been found to be the most successful captain to lead the Bangladesh team to overcome several milestones. The first test victory of Bangladesh came under his hands in 2004 against Zimbabwe. Mohammad Aminul Islam ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আমিনুল ইসলাম; born 2 February 1968) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer and captain. Al Sahariar
Mohammad Al-Sahariar (born April 23, 1978), also known as Al-Sahariar Rokon and Al Sahariar, is a Bangladeshi Test and one-day cricketer. Al Sahariar scored Bangladesh's first first-class century, in their third match in the New Zealand Shell Conference in 1997–98. He was one of the original eleven Bangladeshi Test cricketers, playing in Bangladesh's inaugural Test against India in November 2000. He played 15 Tests, but patchy form led to his exclusion from the team to tour the West Indies in 2003; he played no further Tests or One-day internationals. Mohammad Akram Hussain Khan ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আকরাম হুসেইন খান; born 1 November 1968) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer.
