Ahad Hosseini
Ahad Hosseini ( Azerbaijani: Əhəd Hüseyni/احد حوسئيني; Persian احد حسيني; born 14 August 1944 in Tabriz) is an Iranian Azerbaijani sculptor and painter. He was born in 1944 in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan Province, northwest Iran. During his 2-year military service, he worked as teacher-soldier in a small mountain village located on the Caspian coast. A sense of loneliness in this remote village drove him to find his talent in sculpture. His first works of sculpture were of Einstein, Bertrand Russell, Beethoven, and Dr. Albert Schweitzer. He then worked for a short period in Parviz Tanavoli's atelier in Tehran. In 1972, he studied art in Italy as a student at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Academy of Fine Arts) of Florence. After returning to Tabriz, he concentrated upon his work and created his 12 sculptures called "Misery Around the World" which he presented them to the Azerbaijan Museum. Kazem Ordoobadi
Kazem OrdoobadiIn Persian کاظم اردوبادی. is one of the last figures among the painters associated with the school founded in Iran by Mohammad Ghaffari, better known as Kamal-ol-Molk, one of Iran’s most celebrated master-painters. Kamal-ol-Molk stayed in France and Italy in the last years of the nineteenth century to study the works of Europe’s greatest artists. Kamal-ol-Molk style, inspired by his stay in Europe, is based on Realist visual arts, Realism and Naturalism (arts), Naturalism. He founded the School of Fine Arts (Mostazrafe) in 1908 where European style of painting was taught together with Iran’s traditional painting. Vidadi Narimanbekov
Vidadi Narimanbekov ( az, Vidadi Nərimanbəyov; 13 July 1926 – 13 December 2001) was a painter, Honored Art Worker and People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR. Biography Vidadi's father Farman Narimanbekov was born in Shusha. He was one of the 40 people who went to Europe to study in Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. When he was in Europe started to dating Parisian lady Irma Lya. The young family had been living in France for a long time. Vidadi Narimanbekov was born in Cannes in 1926. He returned to his native country in 1929 with his parents. The Great Patriotic War also had effect on the family. Ujal Hagverdiyev
Peter Ujal Hagverdiyev ( az, Pyotr Ucal Haqverdiyev, 9 June 1960 — 18 December 2004) was an Azerbaijani painter, member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. Biography Ujal Hagverdiyev was born on 9 June 1960 in Baku. He studied at Art School named after Azim Azimzade. In 1979 he was admitted to the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR, but continued his education at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University named after Vladimir Lenin (now named after N.Tusi). In 1985 Hagverdiyev joined the Young Artists Union under the Union of Artists. Since 1997, he became a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. Tahir Salahov
Tahir Salahov ( Azerbaijani, in full: , russian: Таир Теймур Салахов; 29 November 1928 – 21 May 2021) was a Soviet, Azerbaijani painter and draughtsman. He was First Secretary of the Artists' Union of the USSR (1973–1992), Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of over 20 academies and other creative organizations throughout the world, including academies of art of France, Spain, Germany, and Austria. Biography Salahov was born in Baku. His father Teymur Salahov was a victim of Stalin's repressions, having been arrested in 1937 and executed shortly after. His mother Sona was left to bring up four children on her own but the family did not learn of their father's death until 1956 after Stalin's death. Togrul Narimanbekov
Togrul Farman oglu Narimanbekov ( az, Toğrul Fərman oğlu Nərimanbəyov, russian: Тогрул Нариманбеков; 7 August 1930 – 2 June 2013) was one of the prominent modern Azerbaijani artists. History Narimbanbekov was born in Baku. His father, Farman Narimanbekov, who hailed from Shusha, studied in Toulouse; in 1929 he came back to Baku and participated in the construction of Mingachevir Hydro Power Plant, but in the 1930s was sentenced to imprisonment. His wife Irma Laroudé, a Frenchwoman, was exiled to Uzbekistan and stayed there till 1961. Semyon Bilmes (29 August 1955) is an Azerbaijani American painter and the founder and instructor of The Ashland Academy of Art, in Ashland, Oregon, United States and Atelier Maui, in Maui, Hawaii United States. Bilmes has achieved national recognition as an advertising, editorial, and book illustrator. Bilmes has illustrated campaigns for AT&T, CBS, General Mills, Warner Lambert, Smirnoff Vodka, Citibank, Clairol, Western Union, Alaska Airlines, and Philip Morris. Sattar Bahlulzade
Sattar Bahlulzade ( az, Səttar Bəhlulzadə; 15 December 1909 – 14 October 1974) was an Azerbaijani painter, best known for his landscape paintings depicting the nature of Azerbaijan. He is considered to be the founder of Azerbaijani Impressionism. Among Bahlulzade's best-known works are ''Tears of Kapaz'' (1965), ''Bank of the Gudiyalchay'' (1953), ''Dream of the Land'' (1961), ''Evening Above the Caspian Sea'' (1959), and ''Goygol'' (1964). Museyib Amirov
Museyib Arif oghlu Amirov ( az, Müseyib Arif oğlu Əmirov, born December 24, 1963) is an Azerbaijani painter, Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Biography Museyib Amirov was born in 1963, in Baku to the family of artist Arif Amirov.
