Antonio Momplet (1899 – 10 August 1974) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He worked in Spain, France, Argentina and Mexico. Life and career Antonio Momplet was born in Cádiz, Andalusia. He worked as a journalist and translator of foreign films in Barcelona until 1927, when he moved to Paris and began to work for Gaumont. In the mid 1930s he moved back to Spain where he directed four feature films and founded the film journal ''Cine Art'', which quickly became influential. To avoid the Spanish Civil War, he moved to Argentina in 1937, and made eight feature films the following years. In 1943 he moved to Mexico to join the film industry there, and made a number of Mexican films both as director and writer for others, before he moved back to Buenos Aires in 1946. In 1952 he returned to Spain. During his final Spanish period he made films such as the Spaghetti Western parody ''Due contro tutti'', before he retired in 1964. Quirino Cristiani (July 2, 1896 – August 2, 1984) was an Italian-born Argentine animation director and cartoonist, responsible for the world's first two animated feature films as well as the first animated feature film with sound, even though the only copies of these two films were lost in a fire. Enrique Telémaco Susini (January 31, 1891 – July 4, 1972) was an Argentine entrepreneur and media pioneer. In 1920, Susini led the effort for the first radio broadcast in Argentina, and subsequently established one of the earliest regular radio stations in the world. Lucas Demare (July 14, 1910 – September 6, 1981) was an Argentine film director, screenwriter, and film producer prominent in the Cinema of Argentina in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Biography At the 1943 Argentine Film Critics Association Awards, Demare won Silver Condor awards for Best Director, Best Film and numerous other awards for ''The Gaucho War'' (1942), a film which is considered by critics in Argentina to be one of the best films in its history. He won further awards including Best Film and Director for ''Su mejor alumno'' (1944) at the 1945 Argentine Film Critics Association Awards. He wrote and directed other films such as '' El cura gaucho'' (1941), ''La calle grita'' (1948), ''Mi noche triste'' (1951), ''Zafra'' (1958) and '' La Boda'' (1964).
