Jacques Pitteloud (; born 12 November 1962) is a Swiss diplomat and former head of the Swiss Intelligence Service (FIS). He currently serves as the Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States since 2019. He has previously served as Ambassador to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia and the Seychelles from 2010 to 2015. Early life and education Pitteloud was born 12 November 1962 in Sierre, Switzerland, to Jean-Jacques Pitteloud and Anne-Lise Pitteloud (née Galletti). Urs (from ''‘Urs'') or ''Urus'' (literal meaning wedding), is the death anniversary of a Sufi saint, usually held at the saint's dargah (shrine or tomb). In most Sufi orders such as Naqshbandiyyah, Suhrawardiyya, Chishtiyya, Qadiriyya, etc. the concept of Urs exists and is celebrated with enthusiasm. The devotees refer to their saints as lovers of God, the beloved. Urs rituals are generally performed by the custodians of the shrine or the existing Shaikh of the silsila. Edouard Brunner (February 24, 1932 – June 25, 2007) was a Swiss diplomat, ambassador, and United Nations mediator. Biography Brunner was born in Istanbul. A product of a diplomatic family, he studied law in Geneva and entered the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1956. Anton Hegner (2 March 1861 – 4 December 1915) was a Danish cellist and composer. Life Hegner was born in Denmark and started his musical career as a violinist, but changed to the cello as he was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, from where he graduated in 1879. He moved to New york in 1893. He was often back in Europe, however, often playing at the various courts and concert halls around the continent.
