Zeev Boker
Zeev Boker was Consul General of Israel to New England from October 2018 to March 2020. He was Israel's sixth Ambassador to Ireland and its first Ambassador to Slovakia. Early life Boker was born and spent his early life on Kibbutz Afek in the North of Israel. His parents had both been born in Poland and emigrated to Israel. When they met and married in their new homeland, they moved to the kibbutz and raised their three children there. Boker earned a Masters in Political Science (cum laude) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Career He has served as a diplomat since November 1987, when he joined the Ministry of Foreign affairs as a cadet. He became the first Israeli ambassador to Slovakia (2006–2010). Boaz Moda'i
Boaz Moda'i (also Boaz Modai, he, בועז מודעי) is an Israeli diplomat. He was Israel's ambassador to Ireland from 2010 to 2015. Biography Boaz Moda'i is the son of Yitzhak Moda'i, an Israeli politician. His mother, Michal Har'el, was the second Miss Israel, crowned in 1951, later an honorary life president of the Women's International Zionist Organization. Diplomatic career Modai joined Israel's foreign ministry in 1988. He has served in Israeli embassies in Guatemala, Honduras, Thailand, and London. He served as first counselor of Israel's Embassy to the Holy See. In that role he acted as political co-ordinator for the visit of Pope John Paul II to Israel in 2000. Zion Evrony is a retired Israeli diplomat, formerly serving as Israel's ambassador to Ireland and the Holy See. Biography Evrony was born in Tehran, Iran. Shortly after his birth his family migrated to the recently formed Israeli state, where he lived in a Ma'abarot camp. He later studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Shlomo Argov ( he, שלמה ארגוב; 14 December 1929 – 23 February 2003) was an Israeli diplomat. He was the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom whose attempted assassination led to the 1982 Lebanon War. Early life and education Argov was born in Jerusalem in 1929, to a family that had lived in Jerusalem for seven generations. As a teenager, he joined the Palmach, the elite force of the Haganah. During the 1947–48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine, he was wounded in the Battle of Safed. When Israel was established and the 1948 Arab–Israeli War broke out, Argov joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In 1950, he completed his military service and went to the United States to study, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1952. Gideon Rafael ( he, גדעון רפאל; March 5, 1913 – February 10, 1999) was an Israeli diplomat and one of the founders of the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Biography Gideon Ruffer (later Rafael) was born as Georg Ruffer in Berlin Germany to a Jewish family, the son of a prosperous furrier. He studied law at the University of Berlin. In 1933, when the Nazis rose to power in Germany, he escaped to France, where he studied at an agricultural school in Toulouse, and in 1934, he made aliyah to Palestine, where he was one of the founders of kibbutz HaZore'a.
