The country's three international airports and the hub of air services in the country are Tribhuvan International Airport, which serves the nation's capital and the country's largest metropolitan city of Kathmandu. Gautam Buddha International Airport is the second international airport of Nepal situated at the birth-place of Gautam Buddha i.e.Lumbini in Nepal. Pokhara Regional International Airport is the third international airport in Nepal located at the heart of tourism in Pokhara city. Bajura
Bajura District ( ne, बाजुरा जिल्ला ), a part of Sudurpashchim Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district, with Martadi (today part of Badimalika municipality) as its district headquarters, covers an area of and had a population of 108,781 in 2001 and 134,912 in 2011. The annual rainfall is about 13,433 mm and temperatures vary from 0 °C to 40 °C. The livelihood of more than 80% of the district population depends on agriculture farming, mainly small scale livestock. Due to low level of agricultural production, the majority of the households face acute food shortages for a large part of the year. According to the National Census 2011, the total population of the district is 134,912 comprising 69,106 female (51%) and 65,806 male (49%) residing in 24,908 households. Biratnagar Airport
Biratnagar Airport is a domestic airport located in Biratnagar serving Morang District, Province No. 1, Nepal. Biratnagar Airport is the third busiest airport in Nepal after Kathmandu and Pokhara. There are plans to upgrade the airport to serve international flights very soon. History Biratnagar Airport commenced operations on 6 July 1958. On 15 August 2017, during the August 2017 Nepal and India floods the runway of Biratnagar Airport was flooded, along with other parts of India and Nepal, and the airport was forced to suspend its operations. In 2019, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal decided to upgrade the Biratnagar Airport to an international level, which includes lengthening the runway. In 2022, locals demonstrated, as they still were not compensated for the land that the Government was purchasing to expand the airport area. Biratnagar () is a metropolitan city in Nepal, which serves as the capital of Province No. 1. With a population of 242,548 as per the 2011 census, it is the largest city in the province and also the headquarters of Morang district. As per the preliminary report of 2021 Nepal census, Biratnagar has an estimated city population of 244,750. It is one of the cities of the ''Greater Birat Development Area'' which incorporates the cities of Biratnagar-Itahari-Gothgau-Biratchowk-Dharan primarily located on the Koshi Highway in Eastern Nepal, with an estimated total urban agglomerated population of 804,300 people living in 159,332 households. Bhojpur, Nepal
Bhojpur is a neighborhood in Bhojpur Municipality which is located in Bhojpur District in Province No. 1 of Nepal. The Bhojpur Village Panchayat was established in 1962 and was renamed as Bhojpur Village development committee in 1990. On 18 May 2014 the Government of Nepal declared 72 new municipalities within the country. At the same time, Bhojpur Municipality was declared, incorporating Bhojpur, Bhaisipankha, Bokhim and Taksar VDCs. Current wards no. 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Bhojpur Municipality belong to the core Bhojpur area which is the main urbanized settlement of Bhojpur Municipality. Meghauli Airport
Meghauli Airport is a domestic airport located in Meghauli, Bharatpur serving Chitwan National Park in Bagmati Province in Nepal. The airport is the older of two airports in Bharatpur, the other one being Bharatpur Airport. History The airfield was built in 1961, when Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited Chitwan. In 1982, the first Elephant polo world cup was played on the airfield. After being closed for several years, the airport reopened in 2016 for charter operations and from 2017 to 2020, Nepal Airlines carried out scheduled operations again. Bharatpur Airport ( ne, भरतपुर विमानस्थल) s a domestic airport located in Bharatpur serving Chitwan District, a district in Bagmati Province in Nepal. The airport is one of two airports in the vicinity of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, the other one being Meghauli Airport. It is considered to be the main tourist gateway to Chitwan National Park. History This airport was built as part of the resettlement and malaria control program in the Chitwan Valley, with the assistance of the Government of the United States of America. The airport was built in 1958 and the first passenger flight landed at the airport on 5 March 1965. From 1981 to 1985, the airport was shut down due political instabilities in Southern Nepal. Bhadrapur Airport , also known as Chandragadhi Airport, is a domestic airport located in Bhadrapur, primarily serving Jhapa and Ilam districts in Province No. 1, Nepal. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal considers it an important hub for passengers entering Nepal from the north eastern states of India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
