Bole International Airport
Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is an international airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is in the Bole district, southeast of the city centre and north of Bishoftu. The airport was formerly known as '' Haile Selassie I International Airport''. It is the main hub of Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline that serves destinations in Ethiopia and throughout the African continent, as well as nonstop service to Asia, Europe, North America and South America. The airport is also the base of the Ethiopian Aviation Academy. As of June 2018, nearly 450 flights per day were departing from and arriving at the airport. History In 1960, Ethiopian Airlines realized the runway at Lidetta was too short for its new jet aircraft, the Boeing 720. Thus a new airport was built at Bole. Hawassa ( am, አዋሳ; ʾäwasa, also spelled Awassa or Awasa) known historically as Adare is a city in Ethiopia, on the shores of Lake Awassa in the Great Rift Valley. It is south of Addis Ababa via Bishoftu, east of Sodo, and north of Dilla. The town serves as the capital of the Sidama Region. It lies on the Trans-African Highway 4 Cairo-Cape Town and has a latitude and longitude of and an elevation of above sea level. Its name comes from a Sidamic word meaning "wide body of water". Bulki
Bulki is a town in south-western Ethiopia. It sits on a narrow ridge, high above the town of Sawla, in the Gamo Gofa Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region. It is the administrative center of Geze Gofa woreda. Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Bulki has an estimated total population of 5,878 of whom 2,820 were males and 3,058 were females. The 1994 national census reported this town had a total population of 3,096 of whom 1,491 were males and 1,605 were females. Bulki was the capital of Gamu-Gofa from around 1928, replacing Berza. Begi is a town in south-western Ethiopia. Located in the West Welega Zone of the Oromia, the town has a latitude and longitude of with an elevation of 1673 meters above sea level. Begi is the administrative center of Begi Aanaa. As of 2005, the district (Aanaa) is divided into two districts: Begi and Qondaala. Axum Airport ( ti, ኣኽሱም ዮሃንስ ራብዓይ መዕረፍ ነፈርቲ) , also known as Emperor Yohannes IV Airport, is an airport serving Axum, a city in the northern Tigray Region of Ethiopia. The name of the city and airport may also be transliterated as ''Aksum''. The facility is located to the east of the city. The airport is named after Yohannes IV, the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1872 to 1889. Tigray Region
The Tigray Region, officially the Tigray National Regional State, is the northernmost regional state in Ethiopia. The Tigray Region is the homeland of the Tigrayan, Irob, and Kunama people. Its capital and largest city is Mekelle. Tigray is the fifth-largest by area, the fifth-most populous, and the fifth-most densely populated of the 11 regional states. Tigray's official language is Tigrinya, similar to that spoken in Eritrea just to the North. The estimated population as of 2019 is 5,443,000.
