Liselotte Blumer
Liselotte Blumer (born 1957) is a retired female badminton player from Switzerland. Career In 1980 Blumer was a surprise winner of the women's singles gold medal at the European Badminton Championships. The powerfully built Blumer won the Swiss national women's singles title sixteen times, fifteen of them consecutively between 1973 and 1987, and the Swiss Open women's singles title six times. Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). European Badminton Championships
The European Badminton Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton Europe (BE). The first of these competitions was held in 1968. The competition was held once every two years to determine the best badminton players in Europe. European Mixed Team Badminton Championships usually started prior to the individual championships until it was split in 2009. From 2017 on the European badminton championship is held annually except for the year with European Games. Since 2008, it is being graded as a Grand Prix Gold tournament by the Badminton World Federation.
