Lisa Frances Ondieki (née O'Dea, formerly Martin; born 12 May 1960) is an Australian former long-distance runner. In the marathon, she won the 1988 Olympic silver medal and two Commonwealth Games gold medals. Other marathon victories included the 1988 Osaka International Ladies Marathon and the 1992 New York City Marathon. She also won the Great North Run Half Marathon three times. Her best time for the marathon of 2:23:51, set in 1988, made her the fourth-fastest female marathon runner in history at the time. Career Born Lisa O'Dea in Gawler, South Australia, she attended Gawler High School. She was originally a 400 m hurdler. Initially reluctant to take up the marathon, she won her first marathon competition, the Rocket City marathon in Huntsville USA in 1983, taking almost five minutes off the Australian record with her time of 2:32:22. Lisa Martin (equestrian)
Lisa Martin (born 23 May 1972) is an Australian para-equestrian. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Personal Martin was born on 23 May 1972. She grew up in Scone, New South Wales. At the age of 28, a horse riding accident led to her fibula splitting and crushing into the bottom of her foot and a fall six weeks later caused further damage to her leg. After 20 operations in two years, her ankle was fused and her achillies tendon cut, she has less than 15 per cent movement in her ankle joint. She works as a dressage trainer and instructor. Equestrian Martin's heritage is in the equestrian world as she grew up in a family of Australian Stock Horse breeders in Scone. In her youth, she competed in eventing, polocrosse, showjumping and dressage and trained under the guidance of Rozzie and Olympian Heath Ryan. Lisa Martin is an American political scientist. She is a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She studies political institutions in international relations, including economic sanctions and cooperation between states. Martin was the first female editor of International Organization, where she also currently serves as a senior advisor to the journal's editorial board. In 2021, she was elected as president of the American Political Science Association for 2022-2023.
