Lisa Butts
Lisa Butts (born January 21, 1982 in Montrose, California) is an American rugby union player. After playing 5 years on the U23 National Team, Lisa has played on the USA Women's National Team for 3 years. Lisa was also a 3 time All-American while at Chico State. She was also with the team when they won the national championship in 2001. She made her USA eagles debut against in December 2007. She was a member of the Eagles 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup squad. 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup
The 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup was the sixth edition of the Women's Rugby World Cup and was held in England. The International Rugby Board Executive Committee selected the host union following a recommendation from the Rugby World Cup Limited board after considering bids from the Rugby Football Union and the German Rugby Union – it had been England's third successive bid after being rejected in 2002 and 2006. The tournament was again being organised by the International Rugby Board (IRB) as opposed to the host union, and included five matches for all teams played on 20, 24, 28 August and 1 and 5 September. In May 2009 it was announced that the semi final, 3rd place play off and final would take place at The Stoop and not Twickenham as had previously been suggested. Nations Cup (Women's Rugby) 2011
The third Nations Cup tournament was played at Appleby College and Chatham-Kent in Ontario, Canada, in August 2011 following on from an Under-20 version which took place in California a month before. The tournaments included teams representing the USA, South Africa, England and Canada. England retained both titles. For USA, Canada and South Africa these were the first internationals they had played since the World Cup. Although the final results in both tournaments were as expected, in the senior event England trailed to both USA and Canada before turning the games round - in the case of the USA game from the final play of the game after 7 minutes of added injury time. Canada led 5-3 at half time in the group game before conceding four second-half tries. The USA Women's National Team XVs is the senior national team for the United States in the 15-a-side version of rugby. The team was officially formed in 1987 and is nicknamed the Eagles.
