''Lire'' (literally, ''to read'') is a French literary magazine covering both French literature, French and foreign literature. The magazine was founded in 1975 by Jean-Louis Servan-Schreiber and Bernard Pivot. It was owned by the Roularta Media Group until January 2015 when it was acquired by French businessman Patrick Drahi. In 2016, Drahi sold his magazines to SFR. In 2017, Lire was acquired by Jean-Jacques Augier and Stéphane Chabenat. Lira
Lira is the name of several currency units. It is the current currency of Turkey and also the local name of the currencies of Lebanon and of Syria. It is also the name of several former currencies, including those of Italy, Malta and Israel. The term originates from the value of a Roman pound ( la, libra, about 329g, 10.58 troy ounces) of high purity silver. The libra was the basis of the monetary system of the Roman Empire. When Europe resumed a monetary system, during the Carolingian Empire, the Roman system was adopted. The Roman denominations ''librae'', ''solidi'', ''denarii'' were used (becoming known in England as £sd). Particularly this system was kept during the Middle Ages and Modern Age in England, France, and Italy. Liré
Liré () is a former Communes of France, commune in the Maine-et-Loire Departments of France, department in western France. On 15 December 2015, it was merged into the new commune Orée-d'Anjou.
