Laura Lippman
Laura Lippman (born January 31, 1959) is an American journalist and author of over 20 detective fiction novels. Life and career Lippman was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Columbia, Maryland. She is the daughter of Theo Lippman, Jr., a writer at the ''Baltimore Sun'', and Madeline Mabry Lippman, a retired school librarian for the Baltimore City Public School System. Her paternal grandfather was Jewish, and the remainder of her ancestry is Scots-Irish. Lippman was raised Presbyterian. She attended high school in Columbia, Maryland, where she was the captain of the Wilde Lake High School ''It's Academic'' team. She also participated in several dramatic productions, including ''Finian's Rainbow'', '' The Lark'', and ''Barefoot in the Park''. She graduated from Wilde Lake High School in 1977. Jonathan Lippman
Jonathan Lippman (born May 19, 1945) is an American jurist who served as Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals from 2009 through 2015. He is currently Of Counsel in the Litigation & Trial Department of Latham & Watkins’ New York office. Early life and education Lippman is a Manhattan native. He attended New York City public schools, including Stuyvesant High School, graduated from New York University (NYU) in 1965, and received his J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law in 1968. Legal career In 1989, he became the deputy chief administrator for management support of the New York State court system, responsible for the day-to-day management. In 1995, then-Governor George Pataki appointed Lippman as judge of the New York Court of Claims. In 1996, Lippman became New York's chief administrative judge. Abby Lippman
Abby Lippman (December 11, 1939 – December 26, 2017) was a Canadian feminist and epidemiologist who served as a professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University. She was known for her advocacy for human rights and women's health, and for her research applying a feminist perspective to biotechnology and pharmaceutical drugs. Among her most notable works were her critiques of hormone replacement therapy, the pharmaceutical industry, the HPV vaccine, and the " geneticization" of reproductive technologies. In 2001, Lippmann helped the Center for Genetics and Society (CGS) to continue their efforts to bring social justice on human biotechnology. Doris Troth Lippman is a Professor of Nursing at the Fairfield University School of Nursing located in Fairfield, CT. She also practices as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at Fairfield Community Services in Fairfield, CT. Lippman served as a Captain (OF-2), captain in the Army Nurse Corps (United States)#Army Nurse Corps, United States Army Nursing Corps during 1967–1968 working at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M.A.S.H.) during the Vietnam War.
