Liplje Monastery
The Liplje Monastery ( sr, Манастир Липље, Manastir Liplje) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Annunciation and located in the Municipality of Teslić in northern Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It stands at the widest part of a narrow gorge through which a little river named Bistrica flows. The earliest mention of the monastery is found in a chronicle dated to the second half of the 15th century. During the 17th century, the monks of Liplje were active in transcribing religious books. At some point during the Great Turkish War (1683–1699), the monastery was burned down by the Ottomans. Surviving monks fled north across the Sava River and found refuge in the Orahovica Monastery in Slavonia. They brought with them a number of their manuscript books, which thus became part of the Orahovica library. Unlike the nearby Stuplje Monastery, Liplje was not razed to the ground. Liplje (, german: Liple) is a small settlement north of Planina in the Municipality of Postojna in the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia. Geography Liplje is a scattered village below the east slope of Mount Planina (''Planinska gora'') and on the western edge of the Planina Karst Field (''Planinsko polje'') along the main road from Logatec to Planina. It includes the hamlet of Podgora north-northwest of the village core. There are some hayfields and tilled land in the karst field itself that are subject to occasional flooding. There are several springs below the road and above the karst field. Vrbovsko ( sr-cyr, Врбовско) is a town in western Croatia, situated at the far east of the mountainous region of Gorski Kotar in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County; on its 280 square kilometers area, Vrbovsko features 60 settlements and a total of 6,047 inhabitants. Liplje, Zvornik
Liplje ( sr-cyrl, Липље) is a mountain village located in the municipality of Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighboring Snagovo. Within Liplje there are 14 settlements: Bajrići, Bećirovići, Čamlija, Hadžići, Husići, Jašići, Jošanica, Kadrići, Korin Brijeg, Liplje, Salihovići, Samari, Sultanovići and Velja Glava. History World War II In July 1943, the Yugoslav Partisan-aligned 1st Proletarian Brigade, with Filip Kljajić serving as their political commissary, liberated occupied Zvornik from the Wehrmacht and the troops of the occupying Independent State of Croatia. During withdrawal Kljajić died of an accidental gunshot on a hill on the outskirts of Zvornik. His body was brought to Liplje and buried. Kljajić's body was taken in the 1960s from that spot by his family and reburied in a family plot elsewhere. A memorial was erected on the spot where his corpse was originally buried.
