ZE Records was originally a New York-based record label, started in 1978 in music, 1978 by Michael Zilkha and Michel Esteban. It was reestablished by Esteban in 2003. History Michael Zilkha (b. 1954) is a British-born Oxford University, Oxford graduate of Iraqi descent, the son of Selim Zilkha, former owner of Mothercare, a major UK retail company, and the stepson of Cabinet of the United Kingdom, Cabinet member Harold Lever, Baron Lever of Manchester, Lord Lever. In the mid-1970s, Zilkha worked in the New York publishing industry and was a contributor to the ''Village Voice''. "Le Banana Split" is the debut single by Belgian pop singer Lio. It was a very big hit when it was first released in 1979, selling 700,000 copies. It is considered today Lio's signature song. Background "Le Banana Split" was remixed in 1995 and re-released to promote Lio's greatest hits album ''Peste Of!''. Live performances In 1996, Lio performed a punk version of "Le Banana Split" on the French TV show " Taratata". In 2009, Lio performed a mostly acoustic version of "Le Banana Split" on the French TV show ''TV5 Acoustic''. In 2012, Lio performed "Le Banana Split" during the "RFM Party 80" Tour backed by the original instrumental track. She also performed it live with Phantom, the Belgian punk band she was recording and touring with at the time. Mangualde () is a municipality in the subregion of Dão-Lafões (historical Beira Interior), central region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 19,880, in an area of 219.26 km2. Crammed Discs is an independent record label whose output blends world music, rock, pop, and electronica. Barbarella is a fictional heroine in a French science fiction comic book created by Jean-Claude Forest. History Jean-Claude Forest created the character of Barbarella for serialization in the French ''V Magazine'' in spring 1962, and in 1964 Éric Losfeld published these strips as a stand-alone book titled ''Barbarella''. The book caused a scandal and became known as the first "adult" (erotic) comic book, though American pornographic comic books known as "Tijuana bibles" had long predated it.
