Allure (band)
Allure is an American New York-based R&B girl group that formed in the 1990s as a quartet. Now a trio, they are best known for their hit single " All Cried Out" with 112, which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Original members were Alia Gray (née Davis), Hem-Lee (aka Linnie Belcher), Lalisha Sanders, and Akissa Mendez. Career Allure is an R&B girl group from Long Island, New York that originally consisted of Alia Davis, Akissa Mendez, Lalisha McClean and Linnie Belcher. Alia, Akissa, and Lalisha were attending the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York City when they decided to become a girl group. They added Linnie Belcher, who was attending the Julia Richman High School at the time. For the next two years, the girls rehearsed and found management connections which brought them to the attention of Poke (from production team Track Masters). Linnie Taylor Marchant Findlay (April 22, 1919 – January 10, 2009) was a writer-historian based in Ephraim, Utah. A native of Ioka, Utah, she is cited as a founding editor of the ''Saga of the Sanpitch'', an annually-published collection of historical short-stories about Scandinavian immigrants and their descendants in Utah, Utah's Sanpete County, Sanpete Valley. The poetry of Abraham Lincoln has been an interesting source into Lincoln's psyche. In addition to two complete, narrative poems, Lincoln wrote several small verses throughout his life and possibly a poem in the form of a suicide note. "My Childhood-Home I See Again" In 1846, Lincoln completed the composition of one of his most serious poems, which dealt with his emotions upon visiting his childhood home. It is divided into two cantos. The first section was mailed to Lincoln's friend and fellow politician, Andrew Johnston, on April 18, 1846. The second was mailed on September 6, 1846. On May 5, 1847, Johnston published both cantos in the Quincy Whig and titled it as "The Return." The first canto was dubbed "Part I – Reflection," and the second, "Part II – The Maniac." Beggars Opera was a Scottish progressive rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 1969 by guitarist Ricky Gardiner, vocalist Martin Griffiths, and bassist Marshall Erskine. The line-up consisted of Ricky Gardiner (guitar/vocals) (born 31 August 1948, Edinburgh, Scotland), Alan Park (keyboards) (born 10 May 1951, Glasgow, Scotland), Martin Griffiths (vocals) (born 8 October 1949, Newcastle upon Tyne) Marshall Erskine (bass/flute) and Raymond Wilson (drums). After working together building parts of the M40 Motorway near Beaconsfield, the lads moved back to Glasgow to look for an organist and drummer and found Alan Park and Ray Wilson. After an intensive time in rehearsal they took up residency at Burns Howff club/pub in West Regent Street in the center of Glasgow. Linnie Marsh Wolfe (January 8, 1881 – September 15, 1945) was an American librarian. She won the 1946 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography for her 1945 biography of John Muir titled ''Son of the Wilderness: The Life of John Muir'' (New York: A. A. Knopf, 1945). Biography Linnie Marsh was born in Big Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Whitman College with an A.B. and Radcliffe College with an A.M. in 1907. She also graduated from the University of Southern California library school and was a student at the University of Washington and the University of California. She worked as a teacher in Washington and a librarian in public libraries and high schools in Los Angeles, California. In 1924, she married Roy Wolfe. They had no children. While working as a librarian, Wolfe gained an interest in the work of naturalist author John Muir.
