''Linear'' is the name of the debut studio album by the pop/freestyle group Linear. It was released on March 21, 1990, by Atlantic Records. The album's first single, Sending All My Love, reached #5 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 making the album itself reach #52 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also won a Gold certificate the same year, for selling more than five hundred thousand copies in the United States. The second single, " Don't You Come Cryin'", did not repeat the success of the previous single - though it achieved some prominence, reaching the 70th spot on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 list. The album's last single, "Something Going On", failed to succeed. Linear (pronounced: ; ) is an American freestyle- pop group from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The lineup originally consisted of founder, vocalist, and main songwriter Charlie Pennachio, bassist and guitar player Wyatt Pauley, percussion player Joey Restivo, drummer Gerald Rappaport, guitarist Phil Conneilly, and backup vocalist/keyboardist Ricki Archer. In 1989, the band had a hit with the gold single, "Sending All My Love," which was self-released on Futura Records by Pennachio and producer Tolga Katas. After the regional success of the single, founder Charlie Pennachio added the remaining band members Pauley, Restivo, Rappaport, Conneilly and Archer. In January 1990, Linear was signed as a trio after the departure of Rappaport, Conneilly, and Archer by Marc Nathan at Atlantic Records. RPM (magazine)
''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. Atlantic Studios was the recording studio of Atlantic Records. Although this recording studio was located at 1841 Broadway (at the corner of 60th Street), in New York City, Atlantic Recording Studios was initially located at 234 West 56th Street from November 1947 until mid-1956. When the Shorty Rogers and His Giants disc of 33.33 rpm called '' Martians Come Back!'' was issued in August 1956, the address of Atlantic Recording Studios had relocated to 157 W 57th Street. The studio was the first to record in stereo due to the efforts of Tom Dowd. The Studios Tom Dowd in the early days of Atlantic Records would do recording at the offices.
