Line 9 of the Beijing Subway () is a rapid transit line in western Beijing. The line runs from the in Haidian District to in Fengtai District with 13 stations. All stations are fully underground. Line 9's color is chartreuse. History In 1989, the State Council decided to build Beijing West railway station on the Beijing-Kowloon railway. Subway planning had determined that Beijing West railway station would be the interchange between Lines 7 and 9. However, no provision for an interchange station was added in the railway station's design. The railway station was completed in 1996. 15 years later Beijing West Station was rebuilt and expanded with provisions added to the basement of the station for Lines 7 and 9. Seoul Subway Line 9, operated by Seoul Metro Line9 Corporation, is a subway line in Seoul. The line runs east from Gaehwa Station (local train terminal) or Gimpo Airport Station (express train terminal, connecting to Line 5 and Airport Railroad) along the south bank of the Han River towards VHS Medical Center in Gangdong. In 2019, Line 9 has an annual ridership of 225 million or about 616,000 people per day. Line 9 was constructed as a double track subway, but several stations feature passing loops enable express trains to overtake local trains. 9 was a streetcar line in Los Angeles, California. It was operated by the Los Angeles Railway from 1932 to 1955. History When the M Line was split up in 1932, the segments on 48th and 54th Streets were spun off into their own service: the 9 car. It ran from 48th and Crenshaw to 54th and Crenshaw, in a "U" shaped routing via Downtown. The 9 Broadway–Seventh Avenue Local was a rapid transit service in the A Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", was colored , since it used the Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT)'s Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line for its entire route. The 9 operated during rush hour periods from 1989 to 2005, as a variant of the 1, providing service between Van Cortlandt Park–242nd Street in Riverdale, Bronx, and South Ferry in Lower Manhattan. The 1 ran in a skip-stop service pattern during rush hours, with the 9 providing the complementary skip-stop service on the same route. Mexico City Metro Line 9 is one of the 12 metro lines built in Mexico City, Mexico. General information Line 9 was the 8th metro line to be built in the network, built between 1985 and 1988. ( Line 8 started operations until 1994). It is identified by the color dark brown, and runs from East to West in an almost straight fashion. It was built in order to support Line 1, providing a redistribution alternative for east–west commuters. It starts in the multi-line transfer station Pantitlán and ends at the western neighborhood of Tacubaya, both stations also served by Line 1. As a comparison, the section between Pantitlán and Tacubaya is served by 19 stations in Line 1, whereas Line 9 has only 12, which would translate in a faster alternative.
