Line 1 (Chongqing Rail Transit)
Line 1 of CRT runs westwards from to . Line 1 began operation on 28 July 2011. Line 1 runs from Chaotianmen in downtown Chongqing west to Shapingba, and eventually all the way to Shuangbei for a total length of . It is the city's first all- heavy rail metro line and the second completed in Western China. Passenger capacity of the line is 36,000 passengers/hour/direction. In 1992, the Chongqing government had signed a Build-Operate-Transfer in 1992 with a Hong Kong company, and provided the land for the project, but work ceased in 1997 due to legal issues. Work resumed on the first stretch of the line (from Chaotianmen to Shapingba) on 9 June 2007, and opened to limited operation on July 28. An extension from Shapingba to Daxuecheng (University Town) began in 2009 and opened on December 21, 2012 before receiving a short extension from Daxuecheng to Jiandingpo a year later. Chongqing Railway Station
Chongqing railway station () is a railway station of Chengyu Railway, Xiangyu Railway, Chuanqian Railway, Chengyu Passenger Railway, that located in People's Republic of China. It is a transportation hub of Chongqing in China. Once the most important railway station in Chongqing, this station handled virtually all long-distance services to the rest of China. Located between central city area and the Yangtze River, the extremely steep terrain of Chongqing requires the longest escalator in Asia between the station to the commercial districts and Lianglukou station of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 1, Chongqing Rail Transit, Line 1 and Line 3, Chongqing Rail Transit, Line 3. Chongqing Rail Transit Lines
Chongqing ( or ; ; Sichuanese pronunciation: , Standard Mandarin pronunciation: ), alternately romanized as Chungking (), is a municipality in Southwest China. Shapingba Railway Station
The Shapingba railway station () is a railway station of Chengyu Passenger Railway that is located in Shapingba District of Chongqing, People's Republic of China. It was originally opened in 1979 serving ground-level tracks and has been operated as part of China Railway's Chengdu Bureau. In 1988, it was renamed as Chongqing North Railway Station, but reverted to the Shapingba name when another new station in Yubei District was opened as Chongqing North railway station. Serving only conventional services, the station was closed in 2011 for a major renovation and as part of an expansion of the Three Gorges Plaza commercial development. Shapingba District
Shapingba () is a district of Chongqing, People's Republic of China, formerly known as Shaci District () during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Sino-Japanese War. It is one of the central parts of Chongqing and covers around 396 square kilometers, with 13 jiedao, subdistricts and 11 towns. Jiulongpo District
Jiulongpo () is a district forming part of the western part of the Chongqing urban core (). Its total population is around 675,000, while its urban city population is nearly 650,000 (2005). Location Jiulongpo is one of the main districts in Chongqing, around which are Yuzhong, Shapingba and Dadukou, while Banan and Nan'an are separated from Jiulongpo with rivers. Yuzhong District
Yuzhong District () is the central district and heart of Chongqing municipality. It is the capital of the municipality and is also the political, economical, and entertainment center of the city of Chongqing. Located in the central portion of Yuzhong is the Jiefangbei CBD, a leading business and financial center of western China. Surrounded on three sides by water, Yuzhong is effectively a peninsula between the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers. Shapingba Station
Shapingba is a metro station of the Chongqing Rail Transit system in Shapingba District, Chongqing Municipality, China. The station began service on 28 July 2011 with the opening of Line 1 of Chongqing Rail Transit. Until the extension to Daxuecheng was completed and opened in 2012, it operated as the terminus of Line 1. It later was expanded to accommodate two extra metro lines to the south of the Line 1 metro station, to serve the Loop Line (opened on December 28, 2018) and Line 9 (opened on January 25, 2022), but the transfer passage didn't open until 30 September 2022. The Chongqing Rail Transit (branded as CRT; also known as Chongqing Metro) is the rapid transit system in the city of Chongqing, China.
