Lindy Hood
James Marcus "Lindy" Hood (July 30, 1907 – October 17, 1972) was a college basketball NCAA Men's Basketball All-Americans, All-American Center (basketball), center for the University of Alabama. At Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball, Alabama, Hood is noted for being their first NCAA Men's Basketball All-Americans, All-American men's basketball player in 1931 NCAA Men's Basketball All-Americans, 1931 and as the leader of the undefeated 1929–30 Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team, 1929–30 Crimson Tide squad. Hood's nickname "Lindy" came during his playing days with Alabama during a trip to New Orleans to play Tulane Green Wave men's basketball, Tulane. As he entered a hotel lobby, a crowd mistook Hood for Charles Lindbergh and thus the nickname "Lindy" was given to him. Hood was posthumously inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. Tulane Green Wave Men's Basketball
The Tulane Green Wave men's basketball team represents Tulane University in NCAA Division I college basketball. The team competes in the American Athletic Conference. They play home games on campus in Devlin Fieldhouse, the 9th-oldest active basketball venue in the nation. The team's last appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was in 1995.
