Lindridge-Martin Manor
Lindridge/Martin Manor is an intown neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. It consists mostly of the single-family homes located off Lindbergh Drive in between I-85 and Cheshire Bridge Road. In addition, it includes a small commercial area of three streets west of I-85 bounded by Peachtree Creek, Piedmont Road and the Southern railroad. The neighborhood's boundaries are I-85 on the northwest (except for the small area across I-85), Morningside-Lenox Park on the south, and North Druid Hills in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia on the east. Government The neighborhood is part of Neighborhood planning unit F. The neighborhood association is the Lindridge/Martin Manor Neighborhood Association (LMMNA). Morningside/Lenox Park is an intown neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia founded in 1923. It is located north of Virginia-Highland, east of Ansley Park and west of Druid Hills. Approximately 3,500 households comprise the neighborhood that includes the original subdivisions of Morningside, Lenox Park, University Park, Noble Park, Johnson Estates and Hylan Park. DeKalb County (, , ) is located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 764,382, making it Georgia's fourth-most populous county. Neighborhood Planning Unit
The neighborhood planning unit (NPU) is a community-scale governmental structure used in the City of Atlanta, Georgia. History The system was established in 1974 by Atlanta's first black mayor, Maynard Holbrook Jackson. His aim was to ensure that citizens, particularly those who had been historically disenfranchised, would be in a position to comment on the structure of their communities, and to ensure that the citizens would not have this ability stripped of them by politicians who found an involved and engaged public inconvenient. Mayor Jackson had the NPU system placed within the City Charter, which can only be changed by the Georgia Legislature. The Clifton Corridor is a proposed public transportation corridor in and near Atlanta, Georgia, roughly connecting the Buckhead, Emory University, and Decatur areas. Lindbergh, officially Lindbergh/Morosgo, is a neighborhood in the Buckhead district of Atlanta, Georgia. Most of the neighborhood consists of multi-use development combining retail, office and residential space. Geography Lindbergh is bordered on the northwest by a freight railroad line, across which lie the Peachtree Park, Garden Hills, and Peachtree Hills neighborhoods. The eastern border is Georgia 400 and Pine Hills. The Armour industrial area is to the southwest, and to the southeast is I-85 and Lindridge/Martin Manor. History A lake known as Mooney's Lake was originally located in Lindbergh, on the east side of Piedmont Road. Deuward S. Mooney developed it into a recreation center in 1920.
