Linden King
Linden Keith King (born June 28, 1955) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), including nine seasons for the San Diego Chargers and four for the Los Angeles Raiders. He played college football for the Colorado State Rams as a defensive back and linebacker, when he was known by his middle named as Keith King. He was inducted into the Colorado State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998. King played in the North-South college all-star game and the Senior bowl. He was selected in the third round of the 1977 NFL Draft by San Diego and played as a strong safety and special teams player until he was switched to OLB in 1979. He became a starter in 1980 and played at the LOLB position till his release in 1986. His downtime was short however and he was on the field with the LA Raiders within a week of his departure. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). Tecmo Bowl
is an List of American football video games, American football video game developed and released by Tecmo. Originally released as an arcade game in 1987, the game features a large dual screen arcade cabinet, cabinet with up to four players between two fictitious teams. A Porting, port for the Nintendo Entertainment System was released in 1989 and was the first console game to include real National Football League players, via a license from the National Football League Players Association, NFL Players Association. Strong Safety
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. 1977 NFL Draft
The 1977 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 3–4, 1977, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, New York. The league also held its first supplemental draft, which took place after the regular draft and before the regular season. This was the first draft in the common draft era (since 1967) to be 12 rounds, five rounds fewer than drafts of 1967–1976. The draft remained at 12 rounds through 1992 before being reduced to seven, where it has remained through 2022.
