Linda Eide
Linda Eide (born 10 February 1969) is a Norwegian television and radio presenter, programme producer, comedian, actor and chat-show host. Biography Eide was born in Voss, a town in west Norway where the inhabitants speak a local dialect of Norwegian. Nynorsk is the official written form for many of the dialects in the west of Norway and Eide is a key advocate for the use and promotion of Nynorsk, one of the two official languages in Norway. She attended Voss Secondary school and then graduated from the Norsk journalisthøgskole in Oslo in 1990. She studied literature in Trondheim University (NTNU) in conjunction with working for the new youth channel, at the time, on Norwegian television, NRK Petre. She has worked for many years on the national NRK radio network but in recent years is best known for her television shows. The brille (also called the ocular scale, eye cap or spectacle) is the layer of transparent, immovable disc-shaped skin or scale covering the eyes of some animals for protection, especially in animals without eyelids. The brille has evolved from a fusion of the upper and lower eyelids. Brille means "spectacles" or "glasses" in German, Norwegian, and Danish, as well as "shine" in French and Spanish. In snakes, there are no eyelids and the brille is clear and cannot be distinguished, except when the animal is becoming ready for ecdysis. At that time, it becomes cloudy and is visible as a cover over the eye. When the snake moults, the brille is also shed, generally inside out, as part of its skin. Voss () is a municipality and a traditional district in Vestland county, Norway. The administrative center of the municipality is the village of Vossevangen. Other villages include Bolstadøyri, Borstrondi, Evanger, Kvitheim, Mjølfjell, Oppheim, Stalheim, and Vinje. The municipality is the 35th largest by area of Norway's 356 municipalities. Nynorsk
Nynorsk () () is one of the two written standards of the Norwegian language, the other being Bokmål. From 12 May 1885, it became the state-sanctioned version of Ivar Aasen's standard Norwegian language ( no, Landsmål) parallel to the Dano-Norwegian written language (''Riksmål''). Nynorsk became the name in 1929, and it is after a series of reforms still a variation which is closer to , whereas Bokmål is closer to ''Riksmål'' and Danish. Between 10 and 15 percent of Norwegians (Primarily in the west around the city of Bergen,) have Nynorsk as their official language form, estimated by the number of students attending ''videregående skole'' (secondary education). Gunnstein Akselberg
Gunnstein Akselberg (born July 20, 1949) is a Norwegian linguist and professor of Nordic linguistics at the University of Bergen. Akselberg was born in Voss. He studied at the University of Bergen and became a ''candidatus philologiæ'' in 1979. He received his doctorate in 1995 with a dissertation on sociolinguistic relations in the Municipality of Voss, titled ''Fenomenologisk de- konstruksjon av del labov-milroyske paradigmet i sosiolingvistikken: Ein analyse av sosiolingvistiske tilhove i Voss kommune'' (Phenomenological Deconstruction of the Labov-Milroy Paradigm in Sociolinguistics: An Analysis of Sociolinguistic Conditions in the Municipality of Voss). Gullruten ("Golden Screen") is an annual award for the Norwegian TV industry, founded in 1998 by ''Norske Film- og TV-produsenters forening''.
