Lincoln Public Library (Lincoln, Illinois)
The Lincoln Public Library is a Carnegie library located at 725 Pekin St. in Lincoln, Illinois. Built in 1902, the library was funded by a $25,000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation. Chicago architect W. A. Otis designed the library in the Classical Revival style. The building's design features an entrance portico, a raised first floor, a Tuscan cornice, stone decorations, and a red tile roof. The portico includes four Tuscan columns, a pediment with its own cornice, a plinth, and acanthus decorations, and an oak double door with another cornice and an overhead window. The library has been continuously used since its opening. Lincoln Public Library (Lincoln, Massachusetts)
Lincoln Public Library is a public library at 3 Bedford Road in Lincoln, Massachusetts. The library collection began in the late 1700s with a private subscription library started by Reverend Charles Stearns, and later a donation by Eliza Farrar of her husband, Professor John Farrar's library collection. In 1884 George Grosvenor Tarbell, a Boston businessman donated funds to construct the current Second Empire style building of reddish Longmeadow freestone, which was designed by the architect, William G. Preston. Large additions to the library were constructed in the 1950s and 1980s. The library is part of the Minuteman Library Network.
