Lincoln Park Shopping Center
Lincoln Park Shopping Center (also referred to as Sears Shopping Center) was a shopping center located at the corner of Southfield Road and Dix Highway, mostly in Lincoln Park, Michigan, though a portion containing a former Farmer Jack supermarket and a former Wendy's restaurant (now a Del Taco location) lay in neighboring Allen Park. Anchored by Sears and completed by 1957, it was one of the first large-scale strip complexes in the Downriver Detroit suburbs prior to the 1970 opening of Southland Center. After Fairlane Green opened in Allen Park in 2005, the Lincoln Park Shopping Center would lose many of its tenants to the newer complex, while losing others to retailer bankruptcies during the Great Recession and the retail apocalypse, which culminated in Sears' closure in 2019. Allen Park, Michigan
Allen Park is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 28,638. Ford Motor Company is an integral part of the community. Many of the company's offices and facilities lie within the city limits. Since 2002, Allen Park is the practice home of the Detroit Lions football team and is also the site of the team's headquarters. The city is known for its tree-lined streets, brick houses, and the Fairlane Green Shopping Center that opened in 2006. The city was once recognized in Money Magazine's list of America's Best Small Cities. Allen Park is part of the collection of communities known as Downriver. Allen Park is home to the Uniroyal Giant Tire, the largest non-production tire scale model ever built, and one of the world's largest roadside attractions. WXYT (AM)
WXYT (1270 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Detroit, Michigan, broadcasting a sports talk format. The station serves the Detroit-Windsor market and the Southeastern Michigan and Southwestern Ontario areas. Its transmitter is in Monroe County at Ash Township and operations and studios are at Entercom's facilities in Southfield, Michigan. WXYT is a 50,000–watt, Class B station broadcasting on a regional frequency. It is not a clear-channel station because of its frequency and highly directional antenna. The station is owned by Audacy, Inc. This station used to be known as WXYZ, an ABC Radio-owned radio station from 1946 until 1984. WXYT is licensed by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for hybrid (analog and HD) broadcasting.
