Lincoln High School (Manitowoc)
Lincoln High School is a public high school that serves the city and its immediate suburbs of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. USA. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12, with an enrollment of roughly 1,200. Constructed in 1923, Lincoln High School was designed by the Chicago-based firm of Perkins, Fellows, & Hamilton and its campus plan was designed by Jens Jensen. It is located on Roeff's Hill, along scenic Lake Michigan. The gothic-style building occupies on the south side of the city. School colors are red and white. The school's official team name is the "Shipbuilders", however, "Ships" is most often used. History The original building was finished in 1923, making Lincoln High School the oldest standing public high school in the state of Wisconsin. Manitowoc () is a city in and the county seat of Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States. The city is located on Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Manitowoc River. Jon Whitcomb
Jon Whitcomb (1906–1988) was an American illustrator. He was well known for his pictures of glamorous young women. He was born in Weatherford, Oklahoma, Weatherford, Oklahoma and grew up in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from Ohio State University with a major in English studies, English. He is the brother of fashion designer and inventor Merry Hull. Whitcomb started drawing illustrations for student publications while a student at Ohio State, and worked summers painting posters for a theater in Cleveland, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio. After he graduated, Jon found work making travel and theater posters and advertising illustrations. In 1934, he moved to New York City and joined with Al Cooper to found the Cooper Studio. The Wisconsin Court of Appeals is an intermediate appellate court that reviews contested decisions of the Wisconsin circuit courts. James Leslie Kuplic (September 23, 1911 – July 22, 1968) was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Sheboygan Red Skins in the National Basketball League for two seasons and averaged 1.2 points per game. After playing football, basketball, and tennis for Beloit College, Kuplic spent the 1934–35 year coaching all three sports at St. Norbert College. He assisted with the football and basketball teams and was the head coach for the tennis team. Kuplic also taught Japanese history while at St. Norbert. He did not enjoy coaching or teaching, so he left to go work in corporate America.
