Lincoln County Courthouse (Arkansas)
The county courthouse of Lincoln County, Arkansas is located at 300 South Drew Street in Star City, the county seat. The two story building was designed by Wittenberg & Deloney of Little Rock and built in 1943. It is predominantly buff-colored brick, with limestone trim, and has a flat roof that is hidden by a parapet. The building's front, or western, elevation, has a central projecting section that is slightly taller than the wing sections, and is faced primarily in limestone. Four triangular stepped limestone pilasters frame the elements of this section, including the main entrance in the central bay, which now has replacement doors of aluminum and glass. Above the pilasters is a limestone panel identifying the building as the "Lincoln County Courthouse" in Art Deco lettering. It is believed to be the only Art Deco building in the county. Lincoln County Courthouse (Georgia)
The Lincoln County Courthouse, on Courthouse Sq. in Lincolnton, Georgia, was built in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It has a Doric tetrastyle projecting two-story portico with entablatures and a heavy cornice. It is topped by domed clock tower, which rises in the center of the building. The building has rectangular windows everywhere but for the courtroom, which has round-arched ones. The courtroom "ceiling is coved and has large recessed squares overhead. Pilasters atop painted panel wainscoting surround the courtroom. The egg and dart motif is used in the cornice. There is a skylight in the center of the room directly under the clock tower which has frosted glass panels, muting the sunlight that shines into the room." Includes a photo from 1980. The Wiscasset Historic District is a historic district that encompasses substantially all of the central village of Wiscasset, Maine. The district includes at least 22 contributing buildings and two other contributing sites, one being a cemetery whose oldest stone is from 1739. Located on the west bank of the Sheepscot River and settled in the 18th century, Wiscasset was a prominent harbor in Mid Coast Maine, and a major shipbuilding and merchant port, until the War of 1812 ended its prosperity. The Pownalborough Courthouse is a historic court house at 23 Courthouse Road in Dresden, Maine, USA. Built in the early 1760s, it was the first county courthouse for Lincoln County, which was established in 1760. It is the only surviving courthouse in the state of Maine that was built during the colonial period, and is now a museum owned and operated by the Lincoln County Historical Society. 1938 Lincoln County Courthouse
The 1938 Lincoln County Courthouse is an Art Moderne style building in Pioche, Nevada. The 1938 courthouse replaced the so-called "million-dollar courthouse" built in 1871, whose last payment on the approximately $800,000 it cost was coincidentally made in 1938. In 1937, Lincoln County began to receive the proceeds of a major boom in lead and zinc mining that ran through the 1950s and provided a major portion of the county's tax revenues. As the old county courthouse deteriorated, sentiment grew to replace it, resulting in a 1937 bond issue. At the same time the county received a grant of $26,800 from the Public Works Administration toward 45% of the cost of a new courthouse. The PWA money carried conditions, one of which was a close review of the design.
