Lin Wang (composer)
Lin Wang ( (original name), also called ), is a Chinese composer. Lin Wang was born in Dalian, China, in 1976. Biography Lin Wang studied music composition at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing (1996–2001). Later she studied composition and music theory at Hochschule für Musik Saar with Theo Brandmüller, and electronic music at IRCAM at the Centre Georges Pompidou in France. She also studied theatrical philosophy in music theater at University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, under Chaya Czernowin. In 2008, her impromptu chamber ensemble ''JI LI GU LU'' was premiered at the 10th Munich Biennale. It was selected for performance again in the same year at the Biennale di Venezia and the Bregenz Festival. In 2010, her opera "Die Quelle" (The Source) was premiered at the 11th Munich Biennale. International Society For Contemporary Music
The International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) is a music organization that promotes contemporary classical music. The organization was established in Salzburg in 1922 as Internationale Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (IGNM) following the Internationale Kammermusikaufführungen Salzburg, a festival of modern chamber music held as part of the Salzburg Festival. It was founded by the Austrian (later British) composer Egon Wellesz and the Cambridge academic Edward J Dent, who first met when Wellesz visited England in 1906. Epithalamion
An epithalamium (; Latin form of Greek ἐπιθαλάμιον ''epithalamion'' from ἐπί ''epi'' "upon," and θάλαμος ''thalamos'' nuptial chamber) is a poem written specifically for the bride on the way to her marital chamber. The Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern (German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern) is a German radio orchestra. Its administrative headquarters is in Saarbrücken, at the ''Funkhaus Halberg''. The orchestra gives concerts at the ''Funkhaus Halberg'' and the ''Congresshalle'' in Saarbrücken, and at the ''Fruchthalle'' in Kaiserslautern. The precursor ensemble of the orchestra date back to 1937. In 1951, Emmerich Smola established the ''Rundfunkorchester Kaiserslautern'' for the ''Südwestfunk'' (Southwest Radio). The Munich Chamber Orchestra (german: Münchener Kammerorchester, links=no, italic=no, or MKO) is a German chamber orchestra based in Munich. Its primary concert venue is the Prinzregententheater, Munich. The MKO also gives concerts in Munich at such venues as the Pinakothek der Moderne and the ', and at the ' during the Munich Biennale. ''Divertimento'' (; from the Italian '' divertire'' "to amuse") is a musical genre, with most of its examples from the 18th century. The mood of the '' divertimento'' is most often lighthearted (as a result of being played at social functions) and it is generally composed for a small ensemble. Ensemble Modern is an international ensemble dedicated to performing and promoting the music of modern composers. Formed in 1980, the group is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and made up variously of about twenty members from numerous countries. History Ensemble Modern was founded in 1980 by members of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. From the beginning, the ensemble chose to organize itself democratically. The Gaudeamus Foundation and Contemporary Music Center organizes and promotes contemporary musical activities and concerts in the Netherlands and abroad. It focuses on supporting the career development of young composers and musicians, particularly Dutch, through its library facilities, contacts with international organizations, and its own activities.
