Lin (; ) is the Mandarin romanization of the Chinese surname written 林. It is also used in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Pan Wen-chung (; born 28 November 1962) is a Taiwanese educator and politician. He first served as Minister of Education from May 2016 to April 2018 and returned to the post in January 2019. Education Pan obtained his teaching certificate from Taiwan Provincial Junior Teachers’ College in 1983. He then obtained his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in education from National Taiwan Normal University in 1989, 1993 and 2003 respectively. Ministry of Education Pan was named Minister of Education in April 2016, and took office on 20 May. Maw-Kuen Wu (; born December 6, 1949) is a Taiwanese physicist specializing in superconductivity, low-temperature physics, and high-pressure physics. He was a professor of physics at University of Alabama (Huntsville), Columbia University, and National Tsing Hua University, the Director of the Institute of Physics at Academia Sinica, the president of the National Dong Hwa University, and is currently a distinguished research fellow of the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica. Yeh Jiunn-rong (; born October 1958) is a Taiwanese academic and politician. Early life Yeh received his bachelor's and master's degrees in law from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 1981 and 1985, respectively. He went on to study at Yale University in the United States, earning master's and doctoral degrees in law in 1986 and 1988, respectively. Fan Sun-lu (; born 3 October 1952) is a Taiwanese politician who served on the Legislative Yuan from 1996 to 2000. She served twice as deputy education minister from 2000 to 2006 and again between 2018 and 2020. Since 2020, Fan has been a member of the Control Yuan. Education Fan attended Taipei First Girls' High School, and studied political science at Tunghai University. Later, she earned a master's degree in American studies from Tamkang University. Taiwanese People
Taiwanese people may be generally considered the people of Taiwan who share a common culture, ancestry and speak Taiwanese Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka or indigenous Taiwanese languages as a mother tongue. Taiwanese people may also refer to the indigenous peoples of the areas under the control of the Government of the Republic of China since 1945, including Penghu as well as Kinmen and Matsu Islands that collectively form its streamlined Fujian Province (see Taiwan Area).
