Charles Limbert
Charles P. Limbert (1854-1923) was an American furniture designer. He is considered one of the most successful furniture leaders in the history of Grand Rapids and the Arts and Crafts movement in America. The furniture that bears his name is highly sought after and seriously collected to this day. His designs were mainly inspired by such diverse influences as English Arts and Crafts, Dutch folk furniture, Scottish architect/designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and the Vienna Secession. Early Days Limbert was born in Linesville, Pennsylvania in either 1854 or 1856, the son of cabinetmaker and furniture dealer Levi H. Limbert. After moving with his family in 1866 to Akron, Ohio, he later learned the furniture business in the 1870s at his father's store. As a young man in Akron, the first business he tried on his own was in the carriage trade. John Limbert
John W. Limbert (born 1943) is an American diplomat. He is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran in the US State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. He is a veteran U.S. diplomat and a former official at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, where he was held captive during the Iran hostage crisis. He is a board member of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC). Biography Limbert was born in Washington, D.C., where he graduated from public school. He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. all from Harvard University. His Ph.D. was in History and Middle Eastern Studies. In 1962, Limbert first traveled to Iran while his parents were working there for USAID. Before joining the U.S. Foreign Service, Limbert returned to Iran as a Peace Corps volunteer (1964–66) and as an English instructor at Pahlavi University (1969–72, later renamed Shiraz University). Marc Limbert
Marc Limbert (born 3 October 1973, Mancot) is a Welsh football midfielder, currently with Welsh side Bangor City. Limbert began his career as a trainee with Everton, but was released without making the first team. He joined Chester City, where he was to gain experience in The Football League by playing 14 league games in the 1992–93 season. On leaving Chester a year later he joined Connah's Quay Nomads and played for Altrincham, leaving to join Colwyn Bay in July 1997. He subsequently had a brief spell with TNS before joining Rhyl in May 2003, having played on dual terms for Rhyl at the latter end of the previous season. He re-joined Connah's Quay Nomads in 2006 but stayed for just the one season, following manager Neville Powell to Bangor City in June 2007. Paul Moyer Limbert
Paul Moyer Limbert (May 27, 1897 – December 24, 1998) was a clergyman, educator and Secretary General of the World Alliance of YMCAs. Born in Pennsylvania, Limbert earned a bachelor's degree at Franklin and Marshall College in 1918 and divinity degree at the Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1922. An educator of the first order, Limbert lectured and taught at many American universities, eventually becoming president of Springfield College. He served there from 1946 to 1952. Limbert was then selected to serve the highest post in all of the YMCA movement. In 1952, he was named Secretary General of the World Alliance of YMCAs in Geneva, Switzerland.
