Limba noastră (Moldovan Cyrillic: , ; en, Our language) is a public holiday in Moldova celebrated yearly on 31 August. The holiday used to be known as Limba noastră cea română ("Our Romanian Language") or Ziua limbii române ("Romanian Language Day"), but its name was changed to the current one in 1994. Overview On 27 August 1989, the Popular Front of Moldova organized a mass demonstration in Chișinău, that became known as the Great National Assembly, which pressured the authorities of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (Moldavian SSR) to adopt a language law on 31 August 1989 that proclaimed the Moldovan language written in the Latin script to be the state language of the MSSR. Moldova ( , ; ), officially the Republic of Moldova ( ro, Republica Moldova), is a Landlocked country, landlocked country in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south. Limba Noastră
"" ("Our Language"; ) is the national anthem of Moldova. It has been used since 1994 and was officially adopted on 22 July 1995. For a short period of time in the early 1990s, the national anthem of Moldova was "Deșteaptă-te, române!", which was and remains the national anthem of Romania. The lyrics were written by Alexei Mateevici (1888–1917) a month before his death. Mateevici contributed significantly to the national emancipation of Bessarabia. Public Holidays In Moldova

Romanian Language Day
The Romanian Language Day ( ro, Ziua Limbii Române, ) is a public holiday of Romania celebrated every 31 August for the Romanian language. It is a Romance language, being part of the same linguistic family as the French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish languages. The holiday was first proposed in 2011, when MPs of the Romanian Parliament from all political parties submitted a request to the Senate to make 31 August the "Romanian Language Day".
