Lillerød Church (Danish: Lillerød Kirke) is a parish church in Lillerød, Allerød Municipality, some 20 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. History and architecture Built in the Romanesque period, the church initially consisted of chancel and nave constructed in stone with the use of stone ashlars at the corners. In the Gothic period, the nave was extended westwards. The lower part of the extension is constructed in stone from the original church while the upper part is built of brick. The crow-stepped west gable has arched niches. A porch was at the same time added on the west side of the church. The tower was built on top of the chancel in 1859 and heightened in 1906. Interior The original flat ceiling of the chancel and nave was in the Gothic period replaced with a cross-vaulted ceiling. The altarpiece is a painting by J. L. Allerød Municipality
Allerød Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 67 km2, and has a population of 25,867 (1 January 2022). Its mayor is Karsten Längerich of the political party Venstre. Aage Haugland (1 February 1944 – 23 December 2000) was a Danish operatic bass. Life and career Haugland was born in Copenhagen and made his professional debut in Oslo in 1968. From 1970 to 1973 he was based in Bremen, and appeared at Den Jyske Opera in Aarhus in 1972. In 1973 he became a member of the Royal Danish Opera, where in 1985 he was made a Kammersanger. Kate Hall (born 21 May 1983) is a Danish-British singer living in Germany. Biography Hall was born in Harwich, Essex, to an English mother and Danish father, and moved to Allerød when she was three years old. As a child, she received lessons in singing, piano and dancing. Rasmus Svane (born 21 May 1997) is a German chess grandmaster. He has represented Germany at the European Team Chess Championship and Chess Olympiad. He is the No. 8 ranked German player as of July 2020. Personal life Svane was born in Allerød Municipality, Denmark. He is a son of the Danish cellist Troels Svane, and Danish is his first language.
