Iurie Reniță
Iurie Reniță (born 5 April 1958) is a Moldovan politician and diplomat serving as member of Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Parliament of Moldova since 2019. He was the Moldovan Ambassador to Romania from 2010 to 2015 and Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg from 2016 to 2017. Biography Iurie Reniță was born to Lidia and Dumitru Reniță on 5 April 1958 in Abaclia. He was part of the first graduating class of the Moldovan students at the Bucharest-based National School of Administration and Political Sciences. During 1996-1999 he was counselor at the Moldovan Embassy, Washington, D.C., after which he served as advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (Moldova), Foreign Minister Nicolae Tăbăcaru. The Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic ( ro, Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească, Moldovan Cyrillic: ) was one of the 15 republics of the Soviet Union which existed from 1940 to 1991. The republic was formed on 2 August 1940 from parts of Bessarabia, a region annexed from Romania on 28 June of that year, and parts of the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, an autonomous Soviet republic within the Ukrainian SSR. After the Declaration of Sovereignty on 23 June 1990, and until 23 May 1991, it was officially known as the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova. Nicolae Timofti (; born 22 December 1948 in Ciutulești, Moldavian SSR) is a Moldovan jurist and politician who was President of Moldova from 23 March 2012 until 23 December 2016. He served as head of Moldova's Supreme Magistrate Council and was elected President by parliament on 16 March 2012. Early life and education Timofti was born to Elena (born 1927) and Vasile Timofti in Ciutulești, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union, and has four siblings. Viorel Cibotaru (born 19 April 1958 in Chișinău) is a Moldovan politician, former political analyst and journalist, who served as the Minister of Defense of Moldova between 18 February 2015 and 30 July 2015. Aureliu Ciocoi (; born 5 June 1968 in Chișinău) is a Moldovan diplomat who has served as Acting Prime Minister of Moldova between 2020 and 2021, as Minister of Foreign Affairs since 9 November 2020. He also served as foreign minister in 2019 and, prior to that, as the ambassador to Germany, Denmark, China, and the United States. Maia Sandu
Maia Sandu (; born 24 May 1972) is a Moldovan politician who has been the President of Moldova since 24 December 2020. She is the former leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) and former Prime Minister of Moldova from 8 June 2019 until 14 November 2019. On 12 November 2019, Sandu's government collapsed after a vote of no-confidence, with 63 (deputies from PSRM and PDM) of the 101 MPs having voted on the motion submitted by the PSRM. Sandu was Minister of Education from 2012 to 2015 and member of the Parliament of Moldova from 2014 to 2015, and again in 2019. She was selected as the joint candidate of the pro-European PPDA and PAS parties for president of Moldova in the 2016 election.
