Ritchie Fontaine, also known as Lil Ric is an American rapper from Richmond, California, United States, formally of No Limit and Noo Trybe Records. Lil Ric has worked with numerous other Californian rappers including Laroo, JT the Bigga Figga, Keak da Sneak, San Quinn and The Jacka. Music career On October 11, 1994, Lil Ric would release his debut album titled '' Deep n tha Game'', it would be one of No Limit's first album releases. In 1996 after disbanding from No Limit on May 14, 1996, Lil Ric would release his second album titled '' Wicked Streets'' via Solo Records. G-funk Artists
G-funk, short for gangsta funk, is a sub-genre of gangsta rap that emerged from the West Coast scene in the late 1980s. The genre is heavily influenced by 1970s psychedelic funk (P-funk) sound of artists such as Parliament-Funkadelic. Characteristics G-funk (which uses funk with an artificially altered tempo) incorporates multi-layered and melodic synthesizers, slow hypnotic grooves, a deep bass, heavy use of the snare drum, background female vocals, the extensive sampling of P-Funk tunes, and a high-pitched portamento saw wave synthesizer lead. It is typically set at a tempo of anywhere between 80 to 100 BPM. The lyrical content depended on the artist and could consist of sex, drug use (especially marijuana), love for a city/neighborhood, love for friends and relaxing words. Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, emerged in the mid- to late 1980s as a controversial hip-hop subgenre whose lyrics assert the culture and values typical of American street gangs and street hustlers.
