Likwidation
''Likwidation'' is the third studio album by American hip hop group Tha Alkaholiks. It was released on August 26, 1997 via Loud Records. Recording sessions took place at Enterprise Studio in Burbank, California, at Yo Mama's House and at Sound Castle Recording Studios in Los Angeles. Production was primarily handled by member E-Swift, as well as Madlib, Easy Mo Bee, T-Smoov, and Marley Marl. It features guest appearances from Xzibit, Keith Murray, King Tee, Lootpack, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Phil da Agony, The WhoRidas, with cameos from DeBarge, LL Cool J and Nas. The album peaked at number 57 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and number 15 on Top R&B Albums. Its lead single, " Hip Hop Drunkies", became the group's biggest hit in 1997, peaking at #66 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Following the release of ''Likwidation'', group member Tash temporarily went solo, and released the album ''Rap Life'' in 1999. Tha Alkaholiks, also known as Tha Liks, is an American hip hop music, hip hop trio from Los Angeles, California, United States. Since the early 1990s they have produced party music with a hardcore hip hop edge, powered by the beats of DJ and music producer, producer E-Swift (born Eric Brooks in Columbus, Georgia, raised in Toledo, Ohio) and the rhymes of J-Ro (born James Robinson in Los Angeles) and Tash (rapper), Tash (born Rico Smith in Cincinnati). "Hip Hop Drunkies" is a song written and performed by American hip hop group Tha Alkaholiks featuring Wu-Tang Clan member Ol' Dirty Bastard. It was released in 1997 through Loud Records as the lead single from Tha Liks' third studio album ''Likwidation''. Recording sessions took place at Soundcastle in Los Angeles and at Marley's House Of Hits in New York. Production was handled by E-Swift with co-production from Marley Marl. Rico Smith (born August 9, 1971), better known by his stage name Tash, is an American rapper. He is most known for his work as a member of the West Coast hip hop group, Tha Alkaholiks alongside J-Ro and E-Swift. Tash has released two solo albums, ''Rap Life'' (1999) and Control Freek (2009), and has worked on five albums with Tha Alkaholiks. Roger McBride (born December 14, 1968), better known by his stage name King T (formerly known as King Tee), is an American West Coast Hip hop rapper from Compton, California. Emerging as one of Compton's earliest hip hop artists, he was signed to Capitol Records, where he released his debut album '' Act a Fool'' in 1988 with the hit singles "Act a Fool," "Payback's A Mutha," "The Coolest," and "Bass” emix all of which were considered hip-hop classics. Lootpack
Lootpack is an American hip hop group signed to Stones Throw Records with members Madlib, Wildchild, and DJ Romes. They made their first appearance on the 1993 debut album by Tha Alkaholiks, '' 21 & Over''. The first vinyl by Lootpack, ''Ill Psych Move EP'', was released in 1996 on a label named Crate Digga's Palace founded by Madlib's father, Otis Jackson Sr. After this 12" they caught the attention of Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, producer and DJ. Eventually the three of them signed for Stones Throw leading to their 1999 release of '' Soundpieces: Da Antidote''. A follow-up has not been released, but all three of them have collaborated on other projects and recorded solo records. Russell Tyrone Jones (November 15, 1968 – November 13, 2004), better known by his stage name Ol' Dirty Bastard (often abbreviated as ODB), was an American rapper. He was one of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, a rap group primarily from Staten Island, New York City, which rose to mainstream prominence with its 1993 debut album ''Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)''.
