Lignano
Lignano Sabbiadoro (; fur, Lignan) is a town and comune within the province of Udine, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy. It is one of the main summer resorts in northern Italy and on the Adriatic Sea coast. History Lignano Sabbiadoro developed in the early 20th century starting from some private hospitality resorts, which at the beginning could be reached only by sea. The first permanent inhabitants settled in the area in 1931, after the draining of the nearby marshes. The first road connecting Lignano with the nearby comune of Latisana was built in 1926. Formerly known as simply Lignano, the name (from "golden sand") was added in 1935 for promotional reasons. Lignano Pineta
Lignano Pineta is a frazione of the city of Lignano Sabbiadoro, comune in the province of Udine, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy, one of the major summer resorts in northern Italy. History The idea of developing a new town at this site was initialized by a group of local entrepreneurs. On 5 June 1953, the first tractor began to plough through the dunes of the local pine forest, marking the first streets of ''Lignano Pineta''. At the time the project was widely reported on in magazines, on the one hand for its originality and functionality, and on the other for scarring the landscape and destroying the pine forest. Spiral The innovative street plan, with its "main road" in a spiral shape, was designed by the architect Marcello D'Olivo. Tagliamento
The Tagliamento () is a braided river in north-east Italy, flowing from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea at a point between Trieste and Venice. The Tagliamento river is considered as the last morphologically intact river in the Alps. (Its course has not been altered by human intervention). For this reason, it has been the subject of many scientific investigations into its peculiar characteristics: these include its 150 km long corridor which connects the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, its unconstrained floodplain, which hosts several aquatic and terrestrial habitats, and its over 600 islands. Latisana
Latisana ( fur, Tisane, locally ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Udine, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy, on the Tagliamento river. History The city was probably a Roman post station (''Mansio Apicilia'') on the Via Annia which connected Concordia to Aquileia. The city is first mentioned in 1072, and became an important river port in the 12 and 13th centuries, especially known for salt trade, under the counts of Gorizia. In the 12th century it became an autonomous commune, annexed by the Republic of Venice in 1420. The trade declined in the late years of the Republic of Venice, and the city was acquired by the Austrian Empire with the Treaty of Campo Formio (1797). In 1814 it became part of the client Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia and, in 1866, of the newly formed Kingdom of Italy. Massimiliano Esposito (born 27 May 1972), is an Italian beach soccer player and coach, and also a former professional footballer, who played as a playmaking midfielder or as a creative forward. Career Born in Naples, Esposito started his professional career in Catanzaro in Serie C2, where he was a promising midfielder in the early 1990s. When Reggiana was promoted to Serie A in 1993, they signed Esposito as the team's playmaker, who went on to make his Serie A debut with the club. Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard.
