Sercan İpekçioğlu (born 1 July 1991), better known by his stage name Ezhel (), is a Turkish rapper and singer whose music blends trap, hip hop and reggae. His song "AYA" has been streamed more than 80 million times on Spotify. He has been given the title "Freestyle King" by ''Hip Hop Life'' in Turkey. Life and career Ezhel came from a musical family. His mother was an Anatolian folk dancer and his uncle was a musician and sound and light engineer. He received a scholarship to TED school, and began listening to American rappers like Eminem, 50 Cent and Tupac Shakur. At 18, he began performing with a reggae band called Afra Tafra. After this group split, he formed his own reggae band, Kökler Filizleniyor, along with some of his friends from Ankara. He performed under the name Ais Ezhel until 2017. His stage name is derived from his first name, Ufuk, and his hometown Kreuzberg's postal code, 36/61. Career In 2010, Bayraktar was signed to Hoodrich, a label founded by his friend Said. On 7 October 2011, their first sampler was released. Together with Said and producer KD-Supier, they formed the trio Bellini Boyz. In 2012, he released his first EP ''Bald ist dein Geld meins''. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats.
