Lighter (Nathan Dawe Song)
"Lighter" is a song by British DJ and record producer Nathan Dawe. The song features a guest appearance from British YouTuber and rapper KSI and uncredited vocals from British singer-songwriter Ella Henderson. It was released for digital download and streaming by Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group on 24 July 2020 as a standalone single. An upbeat, feel-good house track, its lyrics are about leaving a toxic relationship and feeling happy that the relationship has ended and not carrying a burden. Nathan Dawe (born 25 May 1994) is an English DJ and producer. He is best known for his 2020 single "Lighter" featuring KSI, which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Early life and career Nathan Dawe was born in Burton upon Trent on 25 May 1994 and attended Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Sports College. He is a lifelong supporter of Aston Villa football club. He built a loyal following by releasing mixes on Soundcloud. Rather than the usual genre-specific mixes being put out, he released mashup multi-genre mixes covering everything from house music to hip-hop, reggae, bassline and pop. Nathan was the first DJ without a radio show or hit single to sell out his own concert at the O2. Janum Khan, better known by his stage name Jaykae, is a British rapper and actor from Small Heath, Birmingham. Music career Jaykae's start with music began when he started listening to other grime artists from London. In 2017 he released a single, "Every Country," featuring Murkage Dave of the Murkage cartel.
