"Ligaya" (English: "''Joy''") is the first single by the Eraserheads from their debut album, ''Ultraelectromagneticpop!''. The single was able to make it to the Top Ten of 97.1 WLS-FM countdown. The band last performed the song in their second and final reunion concert dubbed as "The Final Set" on March 7, 2009. No music video was made for the song. Rivermaya
Rivermaya is a Filipino alternative rock band. Formed in 1994, it is one of the several bands who spearheaded the 1990s Philippine alternative rock explosion. Rivermaya is currently composed of original members Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon, together with longest serving guitarist Mike Elgar. Notable former original members include chief songwriter Rico Blanco and vocalist Bamboo Mañalac, who later formed the band Bamboo and later went on his solo career. ''Ultraelectromagneticpop!'' (stylized as ''ultraelectromagneticpop!'') is the debut studio album of the Filipino rock band, Eraserheads. It was released by BMG Records (Pilipinas) Inc. in July 1993. ''Ultraelectromagneticpop!'' spawned hit songs such as "Ligaya", "Toyang", and "Pare Ko". The album is often credited for revitalizing the alternative rock genre in the Philippines during the 1990s. Background Though ''Ultraelectromagneticpop!'' was their debut album, most of the songs were recycled from original compositions that were written since their college days in 1989. Hoping to have their songs published, the band recorded a demo tape in 1991 and shopped around record labels and radio stations, only to be rejected at every turn. Toyang
"Toyang" is a song by Filipino rock band Eraserheads, from their debut album ''UltraElectroMagneticPop!.'' It is the band's second hit single. The song is notable for featuring creative wordplay and idiosyncratic combinations: the narrator is speaking of his love for simplicity and for Toyang, a bright-eyed Filipina, through a classic English love song, several Filipino folk songs, and Ilocano language, Ilocano poetry. Anna Katrina Dumilon Nadal-López (born September 16, 1980) is a Filipina singer-songwriter who was formerly the lead vocalist for the alternative rock band, Mojofly. Mayonnaise are a five-piece Filipino alternative rock band, fronted by Monty Macalino and famous for winning the "Red Horse Muziklaban" contest in 2004. History The band were named after the song " Mayonaise" by The Smashing Pumpkins and were formed in 2002 with a number of earlier former members. They were launched into the mainstream in 2004 after winning the Grand Prize at the Red Horse Muziklaban 2004 as a four-piece lineup. "Ang Huling El Bimbo" ('The Last El Bimbo') is a song composed by Ely Buendia of the Philippine pop/rock band Eraserheads, for their 1995 studio album ''Cutterpillow''. It received extensive airplay after its release and ranked #2 on RX 93.1's "Top 20 OPM Requests of 1996". It is the only Tagalog song included in the band's international compilation album, '' Aloha Milkyway'' (1998). Newport World Resorts (formerly Resorts World Manila) is an integrated resort, located in Newport City, opposite Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines.
