''Liga Dangdut Indonesia'' (''Indonesian Dangdut League'') is an Indonesian dangdut singing competition television series produced by Indonesia Entertainmen Produksi and distributed by Surya Citra Media. It aired on Indosiar from 15 January 2018 to 23 August 2021. The concept of the series involves discovering recording stars from unsigned singing talents who come from every province in Indonesia, with the winner determined by Indonesian viewers using phones, Internet, and SMS text voting. The winners of the first fourth seasons, as chosen by viewers, are Selfiyani, Fauzul Abadi, Meli Nuryani, and Rahmadonal Muhammad Iqhbal. Arif Defri Arianto (born December 28, 2002), known professionally as Defri Juliant, is an Indonesian singer and actor. He rose to fame for being a finalist of the third season of '' Liga Dangdut Indonesia'' representing the province of Riau, broadcast by the Indonesian television channel Indosiar in 2020. After the competition, Juliant has released an album and five singles. He also participated in the '' D'Academy 5'' competition representing Kampar Regency. Dangdut () is a genre of Indonesian folk music that is partly derived and fused from Hindustani, Arabic and to lesser extent, Malay and local folk music. Dangdut is a most popular musical genre in Indonesia and a very popular in other Malay world countries as well because of its melodious instrumentation and vocals. Dangdut features a tabla and gendang beat.
